I know they were announced a while ago for a "summer" release. Has there been any update or news?

You realize 5.56mm and 300blk use the same Pmags?

You realize the PMAG 300B has a different internal geometry than a 5.56mm mag for enhanced reliability with weird 300BLK bullets, plus has a different external design to give an extra factor of safety against loading the wrong round in the wrong gun?

It's a good design and I'm glad Magpul made it.

I have two 300 blk rifles I have always used 5.56mm Pmags I have never had any feeding issues with 40rd, 30rd, 20rd, or 10rd gen 2 and gen3 mags. Shooting supersonic 110gr, 147gr, or subsonic 208gr 220gr.

So other than the external design it seems like a waste for different magazines. All my 300 blk are marked with rubber bands and on the dot matrix on the exterior of the magazine.

But I guess more power to you.

Yup,

But I don't feel like spending money on a new set of mags, when I already have so many that run .300 just fine.

That's because 1) they're not released yet and 2) they're only making them in black.

300 BO looses its usefulness to me at the time 5.56 compatible parts no longer work with it.

had issues with gen2 pmags and 300BO.

Have to mark mags loaded with 300 - so having some that maybe look slightly different might make sense to me.

I just use my Lancer mags for 300BLK and use my P-mags for 5.56mm

I just use the the FDE mags I already had now for that round identification.  But tag still interested in more info on these new purpose built ones...

I got 3 of them about 2 weeks ago. They have black followers marked with "300".  They seem to run fine the couple times I've used them at the range.

Can you take some picture of them next to a 5.56 mag?  Curious how the ribs in the mag differ.

Oh, my 5.56 pmags work with 300BLK

These seem to work better though with certain weights and types of bullets. Especially when reloading you don't have to worry about seating to a shorter OAL so the olgive doesn't ride on the rib of the mag and get pushed out if alignment

Shot over 10,000+ rounds through standard mags without any problem using lancer, magpul gen 2 & 3 some windowed and D&H aluminum mags. Some had green followers, some had magpul followers, I had both gen 1 lancers and gen 2 lancers.

If you are having problems with your magazine and the 300BLK it is probably because you didn't reload it to the proper size.

Exactly, I've never had any mag issues. On another point wasn't the 300 designed specifically to use all the 5.56 components except the barrel? This seems to be defeating the purpose.

My thoughts? If your not reloading you have a bad mag, that happens with 5.56 to, I've shot along the same amounts and have never used Lancers but I've shot allot through many different GI brand aluminum, even some C Products stainless and a couple HK mags, no issues.

Thermold 20s don't work that well in 300 IME.. everything else does.

To me the 300 Pmags are more about easy ID between calibers.
