Ran across these while ammo shopping. Test ship was $15 for 10 but only increased to $16 for 20, might be worth it for a bulk buy.
I've never purchased from this vendor.

Are the Colt 20 round mags sought after mags?  Just curious why people would be jumping on 20 round mags over Pmag 30 round mags for same or cheaper.

Some people like Colt mags, some like aluminum over plastic, some like to shoot with 20's for hunting or bench shooting. Personal preference.

I know had to buy 10.  Had not bought AR mags until Election night bought 50 D&H from DSG and bought 30 lancers.  Bought 50 PMAGs local for 9.50 each after tax the day before I deployed.  Then just the past 11 days bought 27 more mags.  11 foialage Green pmags to go with my gen one FG pmags.  Then yesterday had to try out 6 ETS coupler mags.  Never used ETS AR mags, have used ETS Glock to success but pmag for $ 8-10 bucks, lancer 11.00 each or a tad less, D&H mags at 6-8 bucks. Hard to buy a mag that cost 14-16 when I have options.

And just to show how erratic PSA is on pricing the same mag is a daily deal today at $12.30/ea (but you do get free shipping for 10 mags).

It's one of those "price too low to show" deals. It shows up as $12.30 until you put it in the cart and apply the coupon code.

Well color me stupid. You'd think they'd at least advertise the final price with the coupon, as it appears the final price is $12.30. How many advertising ignorant buyers like me have passed this one up.

Good point. They could say right in the product page "add to cart and apply coupon code to see discount."  That's pretty common.

Can't fault you,

That is actually a simple trick like rebates, coupons and advertise specials that you have to ask for. Forget to say the magic word and miss the deal.  I wish rebates were applied at time of purchase, since they want  proof of sale(s), perfect time, no hassles but that would create 100% payout compared to some absurd low number that escapes me right now. That I read about in "why rebates are best" business article.  this style of discount even becomes a way to distinguish your "brand".

Some cancel but how many also placed the order without looking at the math and then just accepted it, verses how many called to complain. Maybe they were credited or had to write  it up to their own mistake. Then there are  people who just buy  that never catch and/or care about the amount of the mistake.  People who are only  looking for fraud companies on statements and not their orders totals.  Selling a few for $12.30 a piece works to be nice sum over normal price. People aren't willing to go through RMA hassles, shipping fees, customer service and/or restocking fees , etc for a few bucks. Everyone's time is valuable. Save say 10 bucks  but loose 15-20 minutes with your children? Which one is worth more? or if you don't have kids 3 ""Conjugal"" visits with you dear  S.O.

Although with everyone value hunting and looking for the cheapest and refusing to buy when shipping jumps ...... There are  plenty of abandoned checkouts that didn't have the courtesy to empty their shopping cart to release the hold on real time stock. So this possible buyers division is pretty much a guessing game.  Sales has always felt like 3 shell/card hustle style game,  the person who is the least hassle pays more while the one who haggles you to death often gets the better deal.

In PSA defense and openness, they just didn't just send the code in their email marketing list, it posted clearly on the image of the page you buy from http://palmettostatearmory.com/magpul-pmag-30-5-56x45-magazine-mag571-blk.html    the image of the code also shows in your check out screen/page for the item but you would have to be a computer to have a chance to read the smaller thumbnail. But it does remind you there is code on the image/page/item.   Codes are pain but away to work within a system that forbids regular show advertised prices below "$X.YZ"

On the down side, you need to look for the deals page at PSA because they have multiple listing often and they may even show the Pmag out of stock on other pages/listings.

Anyone familiar with their website and system knows/learns  lower left side red has shipping details to get it for free and a discount code is usually about mid position on the right hand side in grey/black.  Sadly you  learn this with time and no written pointer, which would likely be changed up if someone bothered.  That would be a  Murphy's not the supermarket "psychology of shopping" style of moving the cheaper items around and maximizing where you look for their best profit items.

We are all subjected to this  style of whack-mole order due to Magpul's and  every other manufacturer's "Minimum Advertised Price" (MAP)  rules and how if retailer list something lower than what is allowed they can  be  warned,  fined ,  lose their discount volume purchasing, and/or the ability to order whole sale at all.   You may even noticed people bragging they have the lowest prices advertised and if not to please show them others. That was for the bounty reward on turning in fellow retailers who dared to freely price their product.

Notice how the D-60 drums were always  $123.45 since release until the first sale started which are all for $90.00. But you must login to see that sale price, guess what MAP condition is if you are to have sale and what the lowest number can be...., I don't know Magpul's MAP policies but  MAP  has some common  standards across all industries.

An  argument is low prices hurt the companies quality perception and also set an expectation for that price to be a norm or be sold regularly for that...    MAP levels the playing field, so big retailers who can buy in bulk to get discounts can't sell at way  below ( while making a good profit) prices from what a small shop can only buy  the item at whole sale price in their small quantities.  MAP is box of chocolates.

I wish @PSA would  have another great $6.99 D&H mag sale but they were likely "hugged to death" with people ordering several cases.

In my experience, they don't hold up.  I have some of them I loaded up and let sit there on a shelf.  6 months later they're all deformed and swollen and have trouble inserting.  They aren't even good range mags.  They're junk and they got sent back thanks to Brownells lifetime no matter what warranty.
Link Posted: 5/14/2017 9:27:35 PM EDT
[Last Edit: DanW] [#50]
Well, if they don't work out, it is good to know the warranty will work.  I haven't stored ammo in them, but I have two that have run well at the range, so far.  I'll update if I see an issue.

I didn't see your review on Brownells product page.  It might be helpful.

Btw, they still have the deal. www.brownells.com
