I just got a new NHMTG 20 round mag, and it is so tight in the magwell that it is hard to pull out, any suggestions?

Thanks

What kind of lower is it?

It's a Stag

Also the NHMTG, 30 rounders fit perfectly

My Stag lower is kind of tight as well, and won't drop free a couple of mags my Bushmaster will.  Not really an issue, as the vast majority of my mags drop free.  I think Stag magwells are a bit on the tight side, and some mag manufacturers will make mags that are on the larger side, leading to some tightness in the magwell, and a possibility of a mag not dropping free.

I'd blame the mag first. I have a new Stag lower that all my mags fit and drop from just fine. I have one Okay brand mag that I literally have to yank out of my Colt HBAR and my Colt 6520. I haven't tried it in the Stag yet.

Wouldn't hurt to try.

If you have a caliper measure the mag diagonaly both ways. I had 1 that fit tight and would not drop. It was .025 out of shape. Pushed it so it measured the same both ways and it fit like new.

My stag was tight on one of the Brownell's 30 rounders. Try it full of ammo so it weighs 1 lb,  and you can get an idea of how tight it is. If it is only one mag that sticks, and it is really close, you can use a precision magazine dimension adjusting tool, aka a hammer and hard surface. A few light taps should do the trick.

A vise can be your friend.

Put the mag in 4 different ways and squeeze it ever so gently.  Try it several times.  Works like a charm for me.

It works better if you first disassemble the mag.

Just tried it on four of my NHMTG 20 rounders and it worked perfectly. They fit unuseable tight  prior to the squeeze in my MEGA lower.   Thanks man.       HHjr
