Can someone that has done this research lately please tell me the bottomline: where to buy what for how much... "eg Best quality for the Best price at the Best store" I would rather just get them brand new.

thanks

After digesting the posts and opinions, Heres' my final decision (note this is "what I would buy", not every suggestions made in this post are used)

USGI teflon coated made by Labelles aka D&H, with green follower

44mag.com has best price, and IN STOCK AS OF this day  $10.95

If you don't want to waste your time, just go to 44MAG.com and they'll hook you up with what you need.  You won't find a better deal anywhere on new USGI mags.

Thanks!...

but 44mag.com has like 11 different mags, I've read Promag bites, so which one(s) are you referring to?? The ones that are all sold out and taking back orders??(probably, since its all sold out, I presume I am at tail end of a feeding frenzy??)

Also, MagPul or no? for $2 difference

Your IM still isn't on, Dude!

All I was going to say was try buffertech.com/

Not as cheap as 44magfag.com, but they do actually have them in stock, and shipping is really cheap if you select USPS mail.

Black or grey your choice. Which color do you like better?

Green followers are fine, the Magpuls might be better, but I haven't tried them so I can't say.

512.

Look at the various magazine suppliers who sell the gray Teflon mags (Labelle's)

Short of the HK High reliability G II mags, these Teflon mags are the shit

They are very durable, feature the latest followers, and enjoy a great reputation among serious shooters.

Many dealers sell them, although it can be a timing thing. One day- yes. The next day - gone, but don't be discouraged.

Next, I would go with the Colt 30's. Not because they are Colt's, but because Colt's selects the best bodies, springs, and followers for their products

SAW sells these and are available pretty cheap right now.

My unit has been in training for the last 30 days and will continue to train for another 30 prior to deployment. We have fired 1,000's of rounds through C Products magazines without failure. I.m talking 100's of mags. No failures! Which is the best mag? I'm counting on the C Products mag to help get me home and my fellow squad members. That's my life I'm talking about. Any questions who makes the best mag?

You do realize that OKay make Colt's mags, right?

All you're doing is overpaying for a pony on the baseplate.

I've bought several of the Brownell's mags that I believe are CP.  I'm going to be buying direct from CP in the future...

I would recommend D&H (from DSG Arms they should be in stock) either their gray or black teflon finish, your choice of color.

The same company makes La Belle, General Stamping and D&H.

I also like and have Parsons the same company also makes Adventureline and Center Industries.

I also replaced some of my followers with Magpul, it don't tilt they are better than the green followers.

Get the 2nd generation Magpul followers which are an improvement of the 1st gen, it fits better on all magazine brands and it have a more raised rear end to positively engage the bolt stop.

thanks for helping me narrow down the contenders

Does anyone think the addition of MagPul follower and/ or plate is a waste of $$, what I'm asking is should I just get the "standard" green follower with stad plate?  I am a recreational shooter who recently got into AR15 and bought a SEBR

Side note:  I live in a hi cap state, but howcome nobody sells 10 round mags??

9.99 for USGI mags

you do not need magpuls or green followers if all your going to do is sand bag your AR at a bench and shot a slow rof.

if your going to use your rifle for compention then get the greens. Magpulls just add about 3% (SWAG)reliaabilty to a magazine with good springs and usgi green followers..

Magpul Gen 2 followers in a D&H from DSG. Good value. No disappointment.

ETA: unbroken wasting of caliber sig posts.

I've replaced most of my followers with Magpuls, but prior to that I never had a problem with the green followers.

H&K for the win!  Pricey, but damn nice.  I hope that I can convince my company to purchase some for the next deployment.  If not, I'll fork out some of my own cash.  I'm gonna have to get new beretta mags anyways.

I don't understand then, why change when you have no problem??

green seemed to be the standard "upgrade" when Troy posted his mag review (was that 2003?), then Magpul, and now gen II Magpul

that tells me they havn't really got it all figured out yet...

some manuf 30 need a custom fit magpul gen I, the gen II require no custom fit.  its a PIP same as M16A1 vs M16A2.
