Picked up a couple CHEAP 30 rnd mags at the Crossroads gun show last weekend. They're aluminum, looked like they were fairly well made and have green followers. I figured what the hell, the price is right.
Brought em home.... they're extremely tight in the mag well and require a great deal of force to engage. Even harder to pull back out (and they're empty). I haven't tried firing any rounds with them yet.
The vendor claimed they’re made by "Western Manufacturing". Any mag gurus here know anything about them?
FYI... the fit I describe is to a Colt Match Target M4

They're junk mags, on par with USA. Toss them out.

Cool, I've got some magazine experts here. So would one of you happen to know the MIL Spec number for magazines? This would be extremely helpful as I will pull up all the specs and associated drawings and from this point on we will all know what to be looking for and measuring when buying magazines. Manufacturers names are great... but personally, as an engineer, I'd like to know what the specs are. next time I go to buy a mag, I'll simply verify it meets spec MYSELF. --RR

Yeah MIL-C-43827 is "CASE, SMALL ARMS AMMUNITION, 30 ROUND MAGAZINE (M-16 RIFLE)" Unfortunately I don't have NSN specs in my database. I'm suprised there's not a Mil Spec. I'll keep searching.... stay tuned
