Inside 150yds... my choice is Fed. 50gr Tipped Varmint .223 outstanding accuracy from all my AR's

That said...Creedmoor Ammo .223 77gr has been very good for my rifles ....OOS currently,( my profile photo is 20rds of it at 100yds ) and most of my rifles ( not all of them ) like Hornady Steel Match 75gr .223 Prior to any bulk purchase... be sure to try a variety of 77gr ( etc ) ammo's ... I have seen vast differences in velocity, and accuracy .. even while using the same 77gr SMK. |

Groundhogs here get to absorb a Hornady 53 grain Vmax out to 300. Haven't been lucky enough to see any further than that.

Thanks for the replys. Couldn't pass up the deal on the Federal TRU 55g. I think it should work fine.

55 sp or hp will fill your needs. I like 55 varmageddons as they shoot the best from my rifles.

Gamekings? I'd do something with blitzkings, v-max, or other varmint bullets.
If you're buying factory ammo, Hornady superformance varmint is relatively inexpensive, and isn't too bad. In my .204, it does just under 1moa for 5-shot groups. If you're reloading, blitzkings are not very picky about how far they jump, and do very well for me. |

See what the 53g Vmax does in your barrel, chances are it will shoot really well. If it does is a killer round and does well out to 300 yards on small game and predators. It is not a good choice much past 300 yard especially on larger game or if condition are windy. For longer ranges and wind anything loaded with a 77g SMK shoots very well in most barrels.
