I found some 5.56 Tap T2 online and I was considering placing an order for a few boxes. Does anyone have any figures on what the minimum velocity required for expansion from the hornady 75 grain tap T2?

I contacted hornady but they haven't answered... thanks

Its been a while since I read those details on T2 TAP. If I am remembering correctly 2100ish is the min expansion threshold for the T2 OTM bullet.

FYI: Shooting T2 TAP, my 10.5" FN barrel gets 2450 fps with the chrono at 10 ft out.

The Hornady 8126N 5.56 TAP T2 is designed to fragment not expand.  It chrono'ed out of my 10.5" BAD barrel at ~2430 fps average at 5 yards.  If my memory serves me properly, the fragmenting threshold is indeed "2100ish" because I have in my notes that for a 10.5" barrel, effective range is anything less than 150 yards.  I do not have the source of that information.
