I've experienced popped primers with this ammunition as well as XM193 in carbines that run 5.56 pressure loads from surplus Guat to Privi M193 routinely without a hitch. I refuse to use any Federal manufactured ammo in my AR's.

My department uses the 62 FMJ for range use. I see and help shoot thousands of rounds of this stuff a year. In 8 years I can only remember one round not firing the first time.

I have a brand new Ar15 and wanted to break it in. Cabelas had a 99 dollar deal where you got a free 15.00 dollar case
for buying 200 rounds of ammo, so I purchased the American Eagle Tactical XM193. The instructions that came with the AR are not very good. I remember when I bought a RRA NM LAR15 that it said you did not have to break the barrel in at all. I will go to other places here to see if shoot one and clean shoot 2 and clean ect is a good rule or how to go about doing it. I have a about a 150 rounds left of LC 62G Nato mark ammo thats dated 05 that I bought bulk from somewhere years ago. Boy the prices sure have gone up????? I feel the the price is so high, and I already have a rcbs press for my .45 ammo, that I may as well use the 1400 once fired brass I own and just buy the dies and powder and tips. In looking at the brass of the AE XM193....it sure is not brand new shiny beautiful for an 09 and I hope that this is not remanufactured bullets???? Its only 200 rounds to start me off, I could have bought 500 round wolf stuff for 119 dollars but I like buying american made products when they are available and put Americans to work! |

Normally .223 Federal Bulk (100 Count)

Ran plenty of round through her along with about 2k Federal .22LR Bulk and she'll hold a 2" grouping @ 100yrds with the .223 (assuming I'm shooting supported). Good enough ammo for me and it'll be good enough for TEOTWAWKI or Z-day |

Quality ammo for the price. Shoot it through several of my guns. No issues.

have shot between 1.5 and 2k rounds of AE223 with my colt R6600. No issues. My rifle likes this ammo over PP m193 and Remington branded rounds. I used this ammo to qualify expert at my first Appeseeed, 8/2010. shot a 5 round dinner plate group on a full size sillouette @ 400yrds actual. good ammo for the money.

3 or 4 thousand rounds through Colt and Bushmasters with 16 and 20 inch barrels.
No problems. Groups better than it's price. Bill |

About 200 rounds at 50yards. 62 gr thru a 1/7 twist. No FTF or FTE. Clean. Not as accuarate as PPU 69 gr match, but it will do the job. I'll buy some more for sure.

Purchased a new ar15, got it sight using hornady red tip 20 for 20 $, quality rounds. Went and purchased 3 boxes of 20 MERICAN EAGLE 223 and found accuracy way off by 12 inches inches all around shooted a group about 5 inches close at 100 yards. Closest I got to the target. Out of 60 rounds used 4 were damaged do to worped brass shell. But the 56 rounds I shooted not one jammed so I give it a rating of 7/10. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAYsome say.

Each cartridge needs to be zero'd, because most different cartridges will shoot different POI from the same gun. However, 5MOA is not great with AE223. I get 1-1.5MOA with AE223 from my Rainier Arms medcon barrel and <2MOA with my S&W M&P15 and F&N barrel in my SBR. Never any malfunctions. I am working through another 1000 round bag in a box case of it now. |

I find it to be inconsistent, poor accuracy and I can tell some loads are very light. One round will eject to my normal 2 o'clock position and the next will just fall to ground, barely ejecting. From the bench I get rarely over 3 inch groups.
The same rifle will do 1 moa with my handholds. I shoot just to shoot it... |
