Anyone know anything about this company/deal?  Sounds really good even if they rape you on shipping.

Best plinking ammo for the money, in my opinion.  Out of about 1500 rounds so far I've seen perhaps 4 failures to fire and one "round" that was a spent casing.   Besides that, no issues at all.

Much more of these rounds have dents than XM193 that I've seen; however the dents aren't as bad, none will make you rethink firing them, and I have seen absolutely no neck damage on any of the rounds.

Performance-wise, they're hot and as accurate as any other good M193.  I'll never shoot steel cased Wolf for practice again as long as I can get this stuff.

I have bought 5K rounds from them.  You can't beat the ammo for the price.  I was kinda hoping no one from this site would find them because it seems like the ammo is always on backorder.

Anyone know how long this ammo will last?  A few more months, a year, a few years?  If it will probably dry up soon I'm gonna have to buy at least 5K soon.

Well, tell me this:  Does this stuff short-stroke a Bushy 20" like Wolf does?  This could be my blasting ammo for FA with  my Title 2 and a Bushy 20" Upper.  At a great price too!  Thanks, 266

Out of my last 1000, I found 30 that I wasnt comfortable shooting.  Here are some of the worst.  Most of them would probably be fine, but I dont feel like taking chances.

Do you ever dump all your ammo out and swim through it like Mr. McDuck from Ducktales did in his coin vault swimming pool set up?

I haven't many that bad, but I would shoot any of your rounds there with no worries.  They'll come out undented after I shoot them, anyways.

Seriously? Those dented rounds are still good?

Even the ones with dents coming over the shoulder of the casing?

If so, I have nothing to worry about with the rounds I set aside that I was gonna take a pic and ask on here.

Anyone know how they handle backorders? I'm assuming by looking at the site that you have to mail the order in with the ammo waiver? Do they charge CC at time of order or when shipped?

No Expert

Just got off the phone with southern ammo. Right now there is a 4 week back order. They need to fill 136,000 rounds to fill all the orders places. I just put in another order for 10K.

I got 2000 rounds  of it last year.  Thaught about getting more.  I havent shot much of it but one round seemed a little weak.  Slug-O have you had any failures to fire out of your ton of rounds?

yes I did. out of the last 1000 I shot I think about 4 or 5 rounds were hevy primer hits and no bang. I just did a round extraction drill "usmc" and just keep on blasting.

As a matter of fact I do think that they were older stamped if I remember correct. What I do remember was that some of the non firing ones were dark colored and not shine like the rest. I will bring a camera to the next shoot and take a photo whe I get a bad one for you.

maybe they got in some water somewhere and tarnished a little.  I would be very interesting to know the history of the ammo. I have some like that too.  I think Ill pick them out and shoot them to see what happens.

It's funny... I had bought a few K of the slightly dinged .223 and slightly dinged .308 ... A few complained they were floor sweepings...not good...

Well, almost all went bang with maybe 10 or so no bang with good primer hits...

The belt-fed went through the .308 just fine.. in fact they had some that were already linked ..

Those days you got an ammo can as well ....

I am glad people are enjoying this good ammo.  Most of mine were TZZ with some LC and Winchester mixed in.

It has fed G36, Aug and M16's with no problemo....I still have a lot of .308 left for FAL or something else.

Happy shoot'n

I've had pretty good luck with the stuff. In fact, I'm the one that turned Slug-O-Matic onto the stuff. Hey, Slug-O would you mind letting me get an order in sometime in the next year or so? I'm starting to run low.

Im in for 5K
I cant figure out why more people who shoot a lot dont buy all they can afford to at this point in time. Its not going to get ANY cheaper even at $200 a case for Federal new ammo. It wont go bad in your lifetime unless your about 12 and the way things are going I wouldnt be supprised ammo to go for 30 cents a round if not more real soon and surplus to be just plain gone. Then its going to turn into the pain in the ass of having to reload IF you can find the componants. Course I could be wrong and it wouldnt make me to mad if someone dumped tons of high grade 193 on the market. But that bird in the hand feels nice even if that much (and moreammo in the closet) takes up space.

Buying ammo is not a illness

It's not an illness.  It's a disease.

I talked with Sandra at Southern just a few minutes ago.  She told me they have a half million rounds in the warehouse and are "sorting" them and sending out orders.  She says she has orders for 160k of that 500k.

She's got orders for 165k now.  Said it would probably be at least two-three weeks, maybe four before they can get them out.  Told her that was fine so long as they didn't charge my card before shipping them.  Sandra said we ship and charge the same day.

Fair enough.

I got probably 2k of old stuff to play with plus that Guatamalan stuff (due to arrive soon) to play with until it arrives.

I've never seen such a good price, and if the dents and dings are nothing to worry about...

Thanks guys
