I get asked so often to help people get some of this ammo it is rediculous.  I know someone who is going to buy several thousands of rounds of it and wondered what most people are expecting to pay for something like that if they could get it.  IM me if you might want in.  200 round minimum order.  Dont even know if this is feasable or or not at this point.  Im not the one ordering it so I cant promise anything.

I just bought one box of 20 for a Ballistics gel test.  $17.49

Is that about what you should be paying for one box?

little off topic, but how does a 75gr bullet do in a 1/9 barrel?  I know heavier is general the 1/7 territory, but within 100 yards will it matter?

shoots fine out of MY 1/9 twist 14.7ish hbar bushy at 200 plus yards

BTW Billman does the 5.56mm Tap have a Head stamp that is marked 5 .56?
or a different marking other than the 223?

I hate buying and not knowing for sure what Im getting?

Not sure if the IM went though, so I'll post. I'd be interested in 400rds. @15.00-18.00/bx
Keep me in the loop.

$16/box+shipping when buying per case, maybe.  $17-18 per box +shipping when buying by the case?

Not including shipping, that's $170-180 for 200 rounds, buying 200 rounds at 1 time.

You can buy Mk262 Mod1 (using the more expensive, more accurate SMK pill) for $140 for 200 rounds, buying 1 box of 50 rounds at a time.  You can get substantial discounts if you buy a 500 rounds at a time.

Don't get me wrong, I am sure there will be those with the willingness to pay and $ to blow for some NATO pressure 75gr TAP at .85-.90 cents per shot (not including shipping costs) but I wouldn't expect a high % of people to jump at the "deal".

BH 77gr Nosler loading (better bullet than the 75gr Hornady as far as terminal ballistics go) was $600 per 1000 rounds, shipped.

Then again, if the market you reach is 10,000 people and you get 1% interest, that's 100 people ready to place orders.  I'm sure many of these people are like me and buy more of something when there is a quantity discount.

I'm used to paying $10.50-$12.50 per box of .223 TAP 75gr, not including shipping.  Even less ($23-$25/box of 50) for BH Red Box 75gr.  So maybe my opinions are a little cheaper than some.  I think $13.50-16 is what most people pay per box of .223 TAP 75gr.  $15-17 would be very high for .223 TAP 75gr.

As far as terminal ballistics go:
The best pill is the 77gr Nosler, no one loads it.
The 75gr Hornady is a very close second.
The 77gr SMK is 3rd.

In general (meaning in the majority of barrels, there are always exceptions), accuracy rates in the reverse order.

I just paid $200 for 200 rounds of Federal LE223T3 so I would pay around that for the Hornady TAP.

It depends on how much the person gets if any. And how much the person is selling it for. I might be in for a couple hundred rounds. Just to stash away for SHTF Ammo. Please keep us informed.

Is this in any way an offer to buy it and pass it along?  My carbine shoots 75gr bullets better than anything.  Having a couple hundred rounds of 75gr 5.56 for HD or SHTF would be nice.

I would not pay more than 50 cents per round of ANY .223 ammo.  And I prefer to pay less than .20.

I am a cheap bastard.

I might pay it if I could see it first?

if its 15 to 17 bucks for regular 223?

couple bucks extra I dont see the harm?

Hornady sells it for $.55 a round deliverd so i would not expect to pay much less than $.60 to $.75 a round unless Hornady gives a better price for buying in bulk.

Dev, I might be in for a 400-800 rounds, depending on price and whether or not this 6.8 thing pans out. I'll let you know by next Wednesday.

Let me start by saying that there is the possibility that the officer in question will be required to pay taxes on this ammo since it is LE ammo.  Trying to figure this out right now.  Also this has gone beyond what I think his credit card and my current cash flow might be able to front to people by buying in advance. Hornady makes this ammo in batches every few weeks.  It is starting to look like people would have to pay up front, the order would be made, the order would be delivered, and this might take 3-4 weeks after all the money comes in to do.  I do not want Hornady to catch wind of this nor do I want it to turn into an official AR15.com group buy.  If it does it will kill the deal because Hornady WILL know what is going on and stop it.  This has to do with Hornady policy and not any legal matter.  I do not want to lose my source for 5.56 TAP ammo.  My IM is already full and I do not even know if this is going to be feasable at this point.  This was supposed to be a heads up to help a few fellows out.  It got out of hand pretty quickly. I kindly ask that if you have IMed me please resend me whatever you sent previously to my email and DO NOT POST IN THIS THREAD ANY MORE.  I wont be returning to this thread. It will be easier for me to email everyone at once than to respond to IMs and my IM box is full.  My email is [email protected]

someone from here was going to sell me 5.56 TAP at $160.00 for 200rds but it never happened.  I don't know if I would pay much more than that.  If I bought some I would only shoot just enough to see how well it functioned in my AR and the rest would be loaded up for HD/SHTF so it's kind of a shame to spend all that money on ammo that will most likely never be shot.  But I would still love to buy some
