In at the local funshop the other day, I noticed a coupla cases 'O wolf, and a case of Q3131.  Supply being what it has been, I decided to snatch it up.  I went to ring up my other stuff, and told the clerk I wanted to purchase those cases of ammo also.  The response was "I'm sorry sir, but I can only sell you 5 boxes" ...

you mean only 5 boxes of each?

"no, sir, only 5 boxes total of any combined military calibers"

I was so shocked, I didn't buy a single bullet there.  I mean criminy, even Wally world lets you buy as much as you want...  This does not bode well for things to come.

They are just looking out for themselves, by trying to milk sales of individual boxes rather than  case sales at case prices. There is PLENTY of ammo available.

That Funstore Sucks!

Bastards trying to ration ammo.

I believe what you are seeing is a hoarding mentality....there was a dry spell, now people are buying larger quantities than normal because they don't believe the drought is over.  The supply lines are not set up to handle surges in demand, they instead expect demand to be more straight-line than peak/valley. Just be a bit patient for things to stabilize. With demand greater than supply, the economic pressures will be in favor of getting you what you want.

dude, I was up at gander mountian the other day and they had at least a few thousand of 7.62x39 mm wolf for 2.50 a box.  I passed on it as I refuse to pay over $100/1000 rds.  It was sitting out in the open.

Back in Jan, I bought 400 rds from a Cabelas store for 1.99 box.  I also ordered 1000 rds of wolf FMJ from sportsmans guide for like 95/1000 and got it in two weeks.

Dude yourself. I have 3 Gander mountains within 100 or so miles of me, and none of them have a single round of 7.62x39 in stock.  Of my local gunshops, 1 is rationing, 3 are totally out, and 2 want over $3 per box - one place is $4.99 per box for WOLF!!!!  This is getting out of hand...

Seem like when a distibutor gets ammo word gets out and a feeding frenzy starts.  Maybe it's a good idea to have guns in different calibers.

Sorry, guys. I took the process as far as I did for some 7.62x51 I was trying to buy. Seemed like they had yours in stock. Since I don't have anything in 7.62x39 I didn't put it in the "basket." At the point I got to with the x39 they said my Portugese was out of stock.

Anyone in NE Alabama should call Larrys in Huntsville. They had some x39 and x54 awhile back.
