Saw a case at my local gun dealer:
xm855 PD for $200 + sales tax

Should I buy it or not?

I would say no.  I have shot 750 rounds without incident, but I doubt I will buy anymore.  Too much of a chance of getting really damaged rounds, plus I have had tracers mixed in.  Not good if I am shooting in the summer time.

Not at that price. I bought a case of it last year for around $170 plus $15 or so shipping. That was the most I was willing to pay for it considering what I had read about it. It is necessary to run every round through a case gauge and inspect for misaligned bullets or bullets that were seated nearly sideways. I have culled a few that were downright dangerous, and I've got a box started for the okay-to-shoot-but-too-wobbly-for-accuracy rounds.

As I found out yesterday there are tracer bullets in the mix also, but without the nice red or orange paint to alert you of the fact. Luckily the ground was icy and wet or I would have had a little trouble.

Not for 200.00. I have not had any problems with this ammo but You have to inspect every round
carefully. For 200.00 a case there are a lot of other options

$170 per K at the local show this past weekend. That included tax. Not many takers. That might tell you something.

The last case I bought had 6 rounds with bad case necks and I was lucky enough to have a squib mixed in for fun.

I do not have any access to locl 5.56.   So I was thinking about some XM855 too for more blasting ammo.  You guys say there are better choices for $200, what do you suggest?  American Eagle?

That stuff is crap, don't waste your money if you don't like squibs. Blackwater supposedly has a giant pile of it, it blew up a student's AR. I think DK-Prof had problems with it also. I still have about 500 rounds of it that I never used up because I found out it was junk.

You want my address, I'll take that  "crap" M855 off of your hands

You got the better stuff.  The 'PD' is bulk packed in 500rd cases I believe.
