I thought it did, but now I'm not sure. I thoguht the actual military ammo is the SS109 as termed by Belgium, but US military calls it M855. What am I getting if I buy SS109 ammo?

this in particular:

SS109 is the NATO bullet spec, M855 meets SS109 spec, but may or may not have some differences.

SS109 refers to the 62grn penetrator bullet as designed by FN Herstal. M855 is the American and Israeli designation for thier standard 5.56 ball round loaded with the FN SS109 projectile.
While the SS109 is NATO standard, member countries load it and manufacture it to different specification. If you are buying "SS109" cartridges, they are likely SS109 penetrator bullets loaded to .223 or 5.56 pressure, depending on where they were made or how....

This of it this way:

All M855 ammo meets SS109 spec.

NOT all "SS109 ammo" meets M855 spec.
