Black Hills blue box is as good as a lot of brand new factory ammo.  It's damn good stuff.

Dissenting opinion - I had repeated short-stroking with BH blue box 55gr ball.  It seemed to be loaded a little less hot;  problem was not magazine related.

Rifle was a 20" Colt Gov't Model, unmodified.  During several shooting sessions, the problem did not recur with 55gr South African surplus ammo.  I did not chrono either but subjectively the SA ammo and Q3131A seemed 'snappier' in recoil impulse.

There may have been some others commenting here when I had this ammo, about 2000 when I shot up my blue box, so it may have been an issue restricted to a single lot?

BH reman ammo is better than most company's regular production stuff.

Buy with confidence.

I have not used any of their 55gr loading, only the 75gr loadings. I use them for practice. They have been with .5MOA of the Hornady 75gr TAP in my precision RECCEs @ 200M and group almost as well. Very good ammo!

well, it looks like most people like it.  i have 250 rounds sitting here that i haven't had a chance to try yet.  i think i'll run through what i have here now to make sure it works allright in my bushmaster before i buy more...  and judging from the reputation they have, i'm sure i won't have any problems

I used the 55gr FMJ for matches, 75gr OTM for "defense" and super-short rifles, and 52gr Match for long range (300+ yards).

Of the 55 grain that I shoot, BHBB is probably the best.  I prefer it over Q3131/XM193 just to shoot.  I need to try some 75 & 77 grain stuff thru my 1:8 barrel...

My friends and I buy BHBB 55gr FMJ rounds by the 1000's. We shoot this stuff for 3-Gun and plinking. Groups real well and always goes bang. I will see how it shoots in my RRA Entry Tactical out of the 16in chrome lined tube. If it mimics my Bushmaster M4A3 it will be my mid-range 3-Gun weapon now that it wears a ACOG TA01NSN.
