I read the ammo oracle info and was still left a bit uncertain.  I have a colt SP1 carbine that doesnt say 5.56mm on receiver but I want to know if all colts have the mil chamber.  Can I use xm193 out of my sp1?

I would assume yes, but I would try looking at the barrel itself.  The Colts I have seen will have the battel twist and chamber stamped on the barrel in front of the front site.  Either way, you can generally use 5.56 in a .223 chamber unless you have a very tight match chamber.

Since it's a carbine, I doubt it has a tight match chamber.   The gun is an all original SP1 Carbine with a receiver that is marked .223.  The barrel only say chrome bore and has the marks "C" and "MP" near the front sight.  The main reason I ask is because I happen to have some 300rds of xm193 that my dad forgot at my house and said I could keep.

I don't know a whole lot about Colt's, like many here do but I would think it would be a 5.56 chamber/barrel.  I don't think I have ever seen a .223 Colt, that doesn't mean they don't exsist just that I never seen one.

I would shoot the M193

Colts have a 5.56 chamber regardless of what it says on the receiver.
