Let's say you have a specific and limited budget to stockpile ammo before an imminent alien descension from outer space and hostile takeover attempt of your home. Since they are aliens relatively new to planet invasions, they haven't planned properly and their weapons are very conventional. You can successfully prevent them from getting in your home with small arms and you hope some of your captured neighbors will be able to convince them that you shouldn't be messed with, but you don't know how many days that will take.

Now your budget only allowed you to stockpile either 10,000 rounds of something similar in quality to Wolf ammo OR about 6,000 rounds of something like Federal XM193.

I'm undecided which I would want and since I'm very worried about the likelyhood of such an incident, I'm looking for feedback?

Get the XM193 because you know it will work.  Wolf is questionable, at least for me.  I'd go with quality and peace of mind.  Besides, you probably won't be alive long enough to use 6000 rounds[:D]

If aliens could afford to fly several light years across space I'm sure they could afford to BUY your house.
Now if you live near the coast it IS possible that penguins could swim up fome Antarctica and attempt such a thing. If its penguins comin after me I go for volume, not quality of ammo. I wouldnt use wolf though. Value packs.
I bet Troy would back me up on this.

Yeah but whose which meat is more tender, Penguin or alien?

Quality over quantity...

Odds are you wouldn't live long enough for it to matter...

Read the AMMO FAQ. There is no way you'd go with the wolf.

A couple cases of XM193 should be fine, along with a case of SS109/M885 green tip if you have a fast twist barrel.  Past that, just use the ray guns of the aliens [;)]

The rest is for your to shoot if prior to SHTF and/or killer kittens taking revenge for all the Shrike postings (Subguns.com reference ;-).

Neither.  You need a ray gun and a roll of tin foil.

No way, if the tin foil is still on the roll, you're way behind the curve. A ready made beanie must be attached to the BOB, ready to go, at all times.

What sort of aliens can master space flight, but can't set fire to a house?

I can't picture spending even 500 rounds defending a home before someone figures out they should strike a match.

The same kind that can't deal with water, and yet use humans as a food source.
And come to a planet covered in the stuff.
And can't get out of a locked room.

Since they have taken some casualties from your "hose down", they don't feel safe enough to expose themselves from behind their spacecrafts and run up and light the match! :)

To get through their deflector shields you'll need a phased plasma rifle in the 40 watt range.

Does Bushmaster make a phased plasma rifle?[:D]

As in porch light 40 watt!?
What kind of amateur are you?

I recommend 622kW Phased Array, Auto-range Sopmole 5R.

If you are a good shot load your own, a fair shot use the Federal XM193, if you can't hit the side of a barn standing inside it go for Wolf it won't make any difference and you'd save some money.   [xx(]

Everyone knows ray guns are not as much fun as AR's.
