Does it really matter if the ammo is in a safe where it's humidity controlled or just put it in the closet somewhere? My house temp is usually 72 and under 50-60% humidity, I tend to use it within a year anyways.

Your thoughts?

You could probably store it in your shower if you're going to use it up inside a year. Any old closet will be fine.

To store ammo away in a lower humidity state, one very easy and "free" method is to wait until a cold week this winter and then leave your ammo boxes sit around for a few days (or a month) to reach the typical dry state of the air in a heated house (works great with forced air heat). Once you shut the ammo box with a good seal, you have dry ammo sealed with low moisture air.

Closet should be fine for your needs.
