A word of warning: Watch out for the shipping/handling charges from CTD. They USED to charge what I considered very high S/H fees.
And the cans that a friend of mine ordered were not in the best condition...Lots of dents & rust...JMO, YMMV. |

5 cans at 3.95 each worked out to 27 with s/h. Still much cheaper than local. but if they're going to be of questionable quality, I'll pass. Anyone have suggestions of where to mail order some from?

I just got 3 regular sized 50 cal cans from CTD today. I was really pleased to see no dents and light, minor rust.

While there are many different sizes of ammo can, by FAR the most ubiquitous are the 50-cal and 30-cal cans. The 50-cal cans are the ones used for belted 50 BMG ammo of course, but are also used for 9mm and 5.56mm, among others. The 30-cal cans are still sized for 30-06 ammo (for the original 1917 and 1919 "Thirty Cal Machineguns), and use a spacer for belted 7.62mm ammo. Everyone identifies these cans as "50 cal" and "30 cal", so you shouldn't have any problems.
CTD's item number for the 50-cal can is ZAA-095, and you can see in the picture that it is marked for M855 in bandoleers. -Troy |

I also orderd 3 .50 cal cans from CTD. They only had some dust and minor rust on them wich came off easyly with a dish rag.

1000 rounds (50 boxes) of Q3131A just fits in a standard 50cal ammo can if you carefully arrange the boxes.
