I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with the Winchester 45 grain hollow points in terms of penetration and expansion? I just purchased a box of 40 to try. I would like to keep some on hand for a home defense tpye round if it fragments fairly easily but I am worried about penetration on any unlucky soul coming into the house. Maybe next trip to the range I'll try some informal experiments on plywood, sheetrock and you can't forget line of waterjugs.

Two words....inadequate penetration. For a list of acceptable rounds for defense that meet penetration and expansion/fragmentation criteria, read this: www.ammo-oracle.com -Charging Handle
