Has anybody used the 62g. .223 Barnaul ammo?  Any thoughts on it's quality?  Is it similar to Wolf?  Insite would be appreciated.  Thanks!

I've shot a bit of it. Same as wolf. Dirty and inaccurate, but reliable in my 1:7 Colt.

www.sportsmansguide.com had it on sale for $90/1000 not long ago.  It's okay quality.  About the same as Wolf in my opinion.

I have shot about 500 rnds through my rifle, and so far I like it. No jams of any kind, and not too light (I get 2990 fps out of my 20" barrel). Not the most accurate ammo out there, but just fine for plinking and having fun at the range. If I didn't know it was Barnaul, I would swear it was Wolf, it looks exactly the same. The big hollow cavity looks impressive, but expanding bullets they are not.

I use it in my 9x18 Mak.  Better then Wolf and only a few bucks more.

Thanks guys.  I had been looking at ammunitionstore.com.  They had 3700 rounds for $329 plus shipping.  But, I instead drove to Sportsmans Guide show room, and bought some Wolf there (I had no idea that the showroom is so close to where I work).  I paid $94.97 per 1000.  Not bad.

The only thing was 5 minutes from home I realized that I didn't buy enough!  I forgot one case.  Ohh well.  I'll have to go back later.

I let a few Barnauls fly yesterday, going up against a friend with a scoped Daewoo. The open sighted 20" AR put 30 rounds worth into a 2" ragged hole at 80 yards, his Daewoo did 3 1/2" groups with Barnaul. I prefer the 62 grainers through the 1:9. All rounds from half my case (500) fed perfect, of course sooty, but that is the nature of the AR's gas system.
