I use Lake City 55gr XM193 exclusively, and I had a dud round (firing pin punched the primer, but no ignition) on my last trip to the range. I think it was from lot 11, but I don't have access to the arms locker right now to check it.
Am I worrying about this too much, or has anyone else had this happen? (BTW, I expended about 150 rds of that lot, and that was the only malfunction)

First I've heard of it! I don't think I have any of Lot 11, but I'll have to check my "rainy day" storage and see!

How much of it do you have?
Go shoot it ALL and let me know if it happens again!

I shot over 1000 rounds of lot 11 a couple of weeks ago.  I cannot say I had any FTF problems due to ammo.  The only problems I had were specifically related to a loosened carrier key and unbelievable amounts of carbon build up after about 400-500 rounds of shooting this stuff.  The build up was so bad the bolt would not freely move in the carrier.  After a quick cleaning of the bolt, I was back in business.

As a Small Arms Repairman (2111) in the Corps in the early 70s, I was able to witness many thousands of rounds fired and did see an occasional "dud" with USGI LC M193.  IT was rare, but it did happen.  IIRC, Olin owned the LC plant at that time.

I'm using Lot 10 now.  Hot as a firecracker (3,350+ averages from 20" Bushy at 78 degrees F) but no FTE's.

Every ammmo manufacturer is bound to hit a bad primer once in a while.
