Oh thats just greaaaat... so if you get a visit from the ATF just HOW are you supposed to convince them that it isn't illegal tungstin cored M995 AP ammo? Normally when you see a black tip that is what it means... |

Yes, Iam talking about the Igman SS109. The website posted in the above reply will take you right to it. They even advertise it as Armor Piercing!
Someone did'nt get creative with a paintbrush, did they. Ha Ha. So is this stuff any good? Better or same as the green tip? Thanks for all this ainfo guys! |

The green tip is the NATO anti personal ammo. Green tip means "other" in NATO color standards and is only used on US M855 Ball so US soldiers know it's not M193 Ball. US still has M16A1 rifles in service which are wildly inaccurate firing 5.56mm NATO ammo, they require M193 Ball. Any other "green tip" ammo I suspect is painted for sale in the US commercial market, no other military has the mix of rifles we do. Painting bullet tips black doesn't magically make them armor piercing. [;)] -- Chuck |

It isn't illegal to POSSESS or shoot .223 AP, it's just illegal to import or sell it.

I've got some of this- AIM is selling it as well. It seemed to function fine, and was (with Iron sights at 100yds) more accurate than the S$B SS109, the winchester wally world stuff, and the SA 55gn stuff. Seemed to shoot cleaner than the others too.
I was just plinking at little clays, and didn't shoot for group, but I was happy with it. My only complaint was that the case mouth seemed a little "rough" |
