I checked out the ammo FAQ regarding the preferrable lots of LC ammo, but I only found a reference to Lot 7 being bad due to leakage.  Is there a FAQ somewhere that posts all the existing lots, and which ones are considered "the best".

TIA,

Lot 7 is not "bad", but it appears that it is not sealed. Again, this does not mean the ammo is "bad". Only that if it is submersed or gets excessively wet, you may have a problem. Shoot it up, or store it propper, and you will have no problems with unsealed ammo. Having said that, sealed ammo is prefferable due to the above.

Thanks new-arguy for the info.  When I said "bad", I was referring to the comments I've seen posted when comparing one lot to another.  While purchasing Lot 7 to take to the range surely won't disappoint, if you are looking for SHTF ammo, I'm not sure the consensus here would be that it is the best choice.

I'm just looking for those with experience on the lots numbers to illuminate what they've found so we can learn from their experience.  I've seen other posts saying that lots 6, 7, and 8 are not the best, but I've only found in the ammo FAQ why lot 7 wasn't that good (leakage).

Anyone have a compresensive list of the lots and their respective issues?

Thanks,

In LC'00 and LC'01: Avoid 6 and 7 due to lack of sealant on some rounds.  (If this concerns you)

1-5 have performed well and all appear to be sealed.

We haven't tested anything above 7 yet.

What about 10?

Some of the brass appeared to have the black case neck sealant spots on the outside. (which ironically some people were complaining about)

I didn't pull any however.
