I had this upper sitting in the safe for almost a year and finally got it to run reliably. After that it absorbed most of my spare parts and became its own rifle.

Chiappa barrel and bolt now reside in anderson upper. I can't decide if I should cut it down and pin on a surefire 3p I just removed from another rifle.

I already have a CMMG 22lr conversion.. is there a cheap, threaded 4.5" barrel option?

Site member/dealer "Hochimin" might have 4.5" Spike .22lr barrels. I got one from him a while back.

[#11]

16" Spike's .22 middy barrel from hochimin on EE

Olympic cast post ban neutered .750 front sight base

Ceiner kit that was originally supplied with the Spike's rifles

D style buttstock, mottled grip, A1 handguards

605 style upper receiver purchased on the EE

Repro 3 prong

Using Black Dog and Ceiner mags

I popped the pins on the original front sight base and tapped the holes in the Oly base at 6-32. I also tapped the gas tube hole 8-32 and attached the triangle handguard cap to the sight base. I then installed the handguards, dropped the sight base on, installed the 3 prong and tightened it against the sight. I checked sight alignment, then installed 4 6-32 headless set screws to lock the sight on. I still have to take it out and run it. It's on a Bushy lower right now, but I'll mark and cut an 80% for it. I love the 605 look, so it was a no brainer to do this.

Depends on your idea of cheap. CMMG makes a quality 4.5" barrel that can be had for less than $100 online.

How does the back of the receiver look with that stock folded? I'm interested in using that stock when I have a lower dedicated to my .22 upper.

It is.

There is a threaded disc that fits into the buffer tube threads. The 4 allen heads attached to this threaded disc. It may be hard to see but there is a small delrin circle that fits in the end plate hole that prevents the stock assembly from rotating much like the end plate does on a normal AR. It's a really well made kit that I've been very happy with. Excuse the red paint pen mess from prior witness marks.

Nice. Does the threaded disc in the buffer tube threads butt up against the BCG? I have the Taccom plug that goes in the normal buffer tube in front of the buffer that helped feeding in my rifle.

Here's a pic because pic thread.

You can adjust it if you'd like. There is a tensioning screw (middle hole between the 4x hex) much like you find in some lower receivers.

These 22lr sbr builds are an absolute blast, but the blowback is fierce... I might need to buy some swim goggles.

Nice build! Good to see another AGP user. Are you a lefty? I don't notice any blowback with mine. I imagine it's coming out of the port door so you could maybe consider a 9mm upper with the large gas/shell deflector.

This thing rocks!  TACCOM Upper, bolt and Carbon Fiber 11.5" barrel.  The eotch 512 I scored for $200 broke, but Eotech fixed it free no questions asked.  FA III trigger.   Balckdog 50 round mags works perfectly with Gemtech .22 subs and other supersonics.  But it doesn't work well at all with CCI subs.  I think the nose is a little flatter on those.  But they do work in the BD 10 round mags fine.  Fun fun rifle.  Also an AAC Element 2 can.

Now with a folding brace. I can not wait for this stamp to return back.

It’s also cycling Aguila subs 100% since installing the JP Yellow reduced power spring kit.
