A (not so) local gun shop has one, I believe the model is LE6940P, has a monolithic upper receiver, mint condition.  From looking at the internal wear, it has not been fired much, probably few hundred rounds.
serial # is LP0019xx

Tag says $1499+ tax.

I've never known it existed until I saw it another day, but I was on short on time, didn't really look into it.

How are these guns perform and what's the going rate now.

There's 1 on GB but priced over $2k.

A buddy has one. it's nice, adjustable gas block and all. I'm just not sold on the piston thing.

Not sure what they go for, but considering Colt no longer makes them and likely never will, I imagine they'll be quite collectible in the future.

Held one at a shop 3-4 years ago. I wasn't impressed, I bought a PWS instead. There are way better options on piston ARs these days.

How can Colt buy anything? They lack innovation and seem to go bankrupt every other year. It surprises me how often a company can go bankrupt and still manage to be around for decades.

I bought one in 2013 when they came out.  Mine does not have an adjustible gas regulator though and I have never seen one.  I haven't shot it much but I like it.  Although I'm really not a "Piston guy" I enjoy mechanical things and also bought a PWS upper which I prefer.

Here are a few pics of it and my standard 6940 upper.  The 6940P has the SOCOM weight barrel and the "skids" on the rear of the bolt carrier.

What was the price back then?

I bought it in April 2013 and paid right around the MSRP of 2K;  I think $1500 is a great price for one in good shape.

I've got one as well, identical to the one pictured...got it I think in 2014 or 2015?

Runs very clean unsuppressed, way cleaner than you'd think.

Suppressed, it gets just as dirty as anything else

It shoots/recoils just like any other AR...I didn't really notice anything different about it vs any of the other ARs I have.

The main reason I don't use mine very often is Colt's decided to not make anymore...so no spare parts. Colt will apparently repair/replace parts, they've still got a stockpile, but I don't like that I can't buy spares of the handful of non-standard AR parts...

I also really wish Colt made a 11.5 or 10.3" barreled version

I bought one from Arms unlimited last year when they were on sale and in stock. I don't believe any of them every came with adjustable gas block, but mine cycles everything I feed it just fine. It's very accurate, but a little heavy with the socom barrel and monolithic upper. I wouldn't hesitate to pick another one up for that price.
