I think it's officially "late June". Summer starts tomorrow too....should be soon.
Less than a week left in June. I'm hoping for some kind of update...
at least the www site still says "summer 2017". For the record, 9/22 is the final day of summer. Just saying.
Well I'll be damned. Their Instagram and Facebook pages says they're now shipping.
Did anyone preorder directly through Magpul (assuming that was an option)? If so, please let us know when you get your shipping confirmation! Wonder how long it'll be til DSG starts fulfilling orders.... ?? |
Black only?
Whomever gets one soon, Would you please take a top view comparison pic with an SL or SLS? |
I didn't have a pre-order, but I did have two Black Friday gift cards and have placed my order at magpul.com. I had to call a CSR to sort out a problem I was having with usng multiple GCs and the very friendly CSR said that I should have the stock in-hand on either Friday or Monday. Pretty amped. Long wait, but it'll be worth it to finally be done with this build!
Thanks! It looks like it's about an inch longer, but that's probably because the others don't have castle nuts and end plates. How much longer is the LOP than the SL or SLS? Does it use the same butt plate as the other two?
OK, so it appears that hell IS freezing over. So...who's got the best price for these unicorns? Cabelas has them for $199, DSG has it for $189, which is the lowest I've found. I'm hoping with the 4th of July coming up and the associated sales it brings, they will be cheaper. Has anyone found a better deal than the DSG price?
Brownells has $20 off + free s/h codes at times, that'd prolly be one of the cheaper ways to get one.
I ordered a pair from magpul since they have them instock. No use waiting for them to sell out, then the wait will be on again.
If i dont use the second one, i can easily offload it. Waiting on shipping confirmation now. Online shows about 95 available for sale. All black, no colors yet. |
Saw a picture on IG with the dust covered removed. I'll be picking one up sooooon
I pre-ordered one (again) from Brownell's. $166.36 plus shipping with the dealer discount.

Mine finally arrived from magpul today and of course its already installed. Installation was fairly easy and its a very sturdy mount. This is my first ubr so i cant compare it to the original.
Cant wait to get it to the range this weekend. |
Should have got mine today...but somehow FedEx couldn't find the address...of a commercial building that both FedEx and FedEx Ground deliver to every single business day. it's almost like fate is against me getting this thing. Allegedly they will be holding it at a local FedEx location tomorrow. We'll see.
Got it! At long last. Looks great. Can't wait to finally finish my megalithic SBR/m203-host build. Gonna be epic!
Looks like Rainier has them https://www.rainierarms.com/magpul-ubr-gen2-collapsible-stock/
anyone else notice that the weight posted on the site went down from 21.3oz to 21.2? Not a huge change, but it's still good news for the weight-conscious. I was double checking weights in the PWD and noticed the change...or perhaps I typo'd the original entry?
This is an odd question, but does the buffer tube nut cone with these new stocks or do you need to supply that as well? I've never installed a UBR before and other than screwing the tube into the receiver...what locks it in? The pictures I've seen don't show the locknut. I do see a Magpul ASAP plate, but no nut.
There is a nut, that secures the rest of the stock to the extension portion, it's just on the rear of the stock instead of the front. Everything you need is in the box, including a couple of nifty tools.

Thanks Magpul. No optic/silencer yet, but otherwise this baby is done! https://ck5.com/forums/media/heavy-hitter.29127/full View Quote |

Thanks amigo. Now you know why I was desperately waiting for this stock. I'll probably get a 458 socom upper for this gun as well at some point. I wanted adjustability and super strength, and it looks like this stock will do it!
Mine arrive from AIM. it looks and feels good (though not installed yet). I have the original UBR as well. I do find it amusing it came with a 2016 catalog.
Looks like their normal price. Maybe someone pushed the wrong button on data entry? I dunno, but here's a link for anyone that wants one...
http://www.kygunco.com/Product/View?ItemNo=122141 HELL of a deal. That's less than I paid using 20% off gift cards and 2% cash back! |

Attached File
Attached File Here's some comparison pics. They are all on Vltor A5 7 position receiver extensions with IWC QD end plates and USGI castle nuts. The SL-K is 6 position, the SL and SL-S are 7 position, and the UBR 2.0 is 8 position. The SL-K is the shortest collapsed, followed by the SL, then SL-S, and finally the UBR 2.0. The SL-K is the shortest fully extended, followed by the UBR 2.0, then the SL, and finally the SL-S. The UBR 2.0 is 21.4oz/606g. The A5 receiver extension with hardware is 5.4oz/153g. The SL-K is the lightest combo and is the baseline. The SL is 1.7oz/48g heavier, the SL-S is 5.4oz/153g heavier, and the UBR 2.0 is 8.0oz/225g heavier. The UBR 2.0 has to be at least one click out to use the front QD sling mount. Magpul's QDM is very hard to get in and out of the front sling mount and gets stuck when installed horizontally in the rear mounts. |

Had a couple of pre orders in for FDE... Both shipped within a day of another and while I was on vacation. I guess one is none and two... well I'll have two now.

Just finished installing this. I think I like it. Had the original version a couple years ago and thought it was a brick...this one definitely feels lighter. It's replacing a STR, which I love, and will probably hang on to for future use. https://photos.smugmug.com/photos/i-vTqCh9k/0/01f4f1ef/X2/i-vTqCh9k-X2.jpg View Quote I have two of these (plus one Gen. 1). Despite all my bitching, it was worth the wait. |

You'll find a buyer, no. Some people actually want more weight, usually to balance some kind of bull-barreled rifle. There's still demand for the gen 1.
