Update: Both barrels sizes are just about done machining and should head to outside process chrome/phosphate by Friday. Then it's up to the vendor to get them done & back here so we can inspect and put to stock if everything's OK. Thanks Rick View Quote |

Probably 2 weeks. If you want one but need to wait, just let me know. I'll put one aside for you. Not worried if it takes a month or two to make it work.

Thx Cool you were in Kodiak....the most likely candidate for my barrel is sitting in my geographically separated safe at my parents house in Homer View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes |

As of this morning, my lower is assembled, and the upper receiver with bolt and charging handle is snapped in place, just need the barrel assembly to finish the build.

View Quote The M9 bayonet was officially adopted in ‘86, just after the 723, and while it was still less common than the M7 for a while, the 723 and M9 were contemporaries for a time. The 723 also used the fiber lite stocks, not the glossy coated aluminum from the 653/654 and earlier. Later 723s also had what would later be M4 barrels as the inventory of lightweight barrels dried up. The OD green was just my choice since I already had the bayonet on hand, and I wanted it to be just a little different. Still looking for the era Aimpoint to put on it too. I’ll be using the A2X on the muzzle so the bayonet can be mounted properly, and may later go to the big button forward assist to make it look more the part, especially since I’m not putting any of my ambi parts on it. So other than the color and possibly the bayonet, it will be a reasonable facsimile of a 723...once I have that nice GM barrel in my hands lol. |

No biggie, it’s been an interesting project trying to get stuff close, had to do a lot of digging to get the right info.
If not for Green Mountain coming through with this barrel, I was going to go with a 727 build instead since they use the M4 style barrel. Many thanks to GM!!! |

I know what's missing; the front sling swivel. Yep, that's it. And you may be missing a gas tube, can't tell if there is a roll pin in the FSB

The chrome vendor is saying we should have the barrels back mid next week. So about a week or so and they "should" be ready.
Thanks Rick |

Well, big surprise here. Chromer is running a week behind. So now they are due to ship back to me on Friday.

Thank you again for bringing this to market. I'm looking forward to picking up a 14.7 for my platoon inspired clone. I had picked up a Colt 16in lightweight barrel for this but I think the 14.7 will get me closer where I need to be. Will there be a coupon code to online order or will we need to call in the order to get in on the group buy?
|
|
Got word the barrels are shipping to us today. We'll need a day or two in QC then they should be ready to pack & go. To order, just call Sales at 603-447-1095 or email me at [email protected] if calling is inconvenient and I'll pass along to Mike or Morgan in Sales.
Thanks Rick |

And are these just stripped barrels, or will they be available with the FSB installed?
|
|
They’re barrels without sights or anything, chromed & phosphated. You can place orders at your convenience.
Thanks Rick |
|
My CC is not ready for this.
I hope they made a metric fuckton of them so there'll be some left when I can swing it! |
|
Ordered one this morning, spoke with Michael & it was super simple & super easy. Just tell them which barrel you prefer, give an email & credit card info. They do not charge until the item actually ships & will send you an email with all pertinent info. Thank you all who collaborated in this endeavor.

Just ordered two myself, super easy can't wait to see how they look. Whoever gets one first post pics thanks again for making this happen
|

Hope you all don't buy them out before i'm paid again!
If I don't use credit the wife doesn't know |

Please please pleaseeeeeeee do a lightweight pencil barrel in 11.5 chromlined m4 feedramps.........the option of adding a FSB would be great as well
|
|
My 14.5" shipped today, looking forward to this build once the FSB is installed too.
Many thanks to the gang over at Green Mountain for making these available to us at such a great price! |

So is John Thomas going to get flooded with pin and weld and FSB installs now?

No, you need to call customer service directly, and let them know you want the ArfCom barrel special order. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes |

I'll try to call tomorrow during lunch....anyone know a good way to get a cast .625 fsb short of using a time machine? I'd like to mount the forged one currently on my 601 build on this barrel and make the 601 a little more "correct" and if not a forged one good shape will do View Quote |

these are a special run.
you know how hard it is to find a .625 barrel with a 1/7 twist done to correct specs and a 14.7 length. it is super hard. they did us a huge favor. I am building this for a light weight build. makes perfect sense to me. |

Guys, thanks for all the orders. Some time next week I’ll be putting them on my web site as a normal item. But you can still order by phone for the arfcom discount for a while. I didn’t realize it’s so costly to get a fsb installed. I’ll look at it closer on another run, basically ran out of time on this one. Also, I’ll have Engineering make up a drawing for the 11.5” version and pass it by you for evaluation.
Thanks again, Rick |
