Wanted one of these for awhile. Never had one close (no shipping) until today.

308 won't fit.
Nothing with a Z scope mount or flashlight.

Need to build a couple more 20 inch rifles.

Be careful with those racks - they are addicting.  You will fill it up and then start looking for another one.  Don't ask me how I know, lol.

A family friend has several of these and has offered to give me one.  For the above reason, i'm kinda scared to take him up on it!

I blame one of them for really getting me into the retro thing. I had one and the only retro I really wanted was a 603 clone like the one I had in basic. Then I realized all my cool modern ARs wouldn't really work in it. Guess I gotta build ten retros I said.

I bought one last year. I wish I had room for another.

Humble brag thread...."Oh, look at me, I have enough rifles to fill a rack!"

Yeah and they don't have bullet buttons either!

Too bad they don't make one that holds more than 12 rifles, as I am sure there are many here who appreiate a large rack

What did these typically sit on? Or were they bolted to a wall at a certain height?

[#10]
They usually set on the floor and were bolted to one another but could be loaded on a truck to transport to the range or field

My Colt H-Bar with the Tasco scope attached fits fine in mine, my SAR-80, my Beretta AR-70 both fit nice, but the pistol grip of my Daewoo is way too fat. I love my M12 rack and bought a second that I need to repaint (it was tossed out into a field).

Things with cantilever mounts on flat top uppers don't work in them.

My AR180 fits fine as well.

Krylon makes a flat OD green that is in their camouflage series I think it is that matches the color perfectly if you need to paint one.

Go to, http://www.govliquidation.com/ an pick your State. You may find some near you. They go cheap but might be a pallet full. The "new" style racks are modular cage units. You can shove 20 + ARs in it easy

I have one of the newer ones in my shed just waiting for me to figure out where I'm going to put it along with my M12

I scored a nice one locally this afternoon. Cleaned up nicely. Can't wait to get some of my retro builds in it.

You guys are so very correct. I have one and am planning to fill it with A2s. When i posted that these were used to move a complete arms roon in the back of a deuce, some guys actually called bullshit on that!
Supply was always part of the advanced party. There were times based on location and mode of transport, that weapons were issued in the training area.
How do you guys plan to immobilize yours for security purposes?
Usually i keep everything in the safe and out of sight. But this thing is going to be such a cool conversation piece! Every bit like fine furniture!!

That was one of the first things I noticed. The whole rack is in amazing shape.

Again. Whats a good way to protect the rifles from theft whilst on display in the rack?

It is designed to be secure by nature. They are not designed as a display rack but rather secure storage.  There are locking bars that come down from each side and lock in the middle with a single padlock.

If you wanted to make it as secure as possible I would bolt it to the wall or floor and if you really wanted to grind the bolt heads round. Place the best quality padlock you can fit in the locking bars and maybe run a cable lock through the carry handles.

Nothing is ever truly secure and it becomes matter of slowing them down enough or making it a big enough PITA

In a Military Arms room, they are chained together with a thick chain (sure there are "specs" on which type), and the chain itself is locked to an eye bolt in the floor, wall, etc...

An American "5200 series" lock is used to close each individual rack.
