After losing a couple I bid on, and totally forgetting to bid on one auction I finally snagged a GM CH off gun broker.

Gunbroker GM charging handle

Looks like a pretty nice one as well, and it went cheaper than the others I've seen.  This was the same seller that just made almost four grand off the 601 furniture.

This was the last thing I really needed for my GM build. Once it's in I'll get some pics of it up. I need to share the great work JT did populating the NOS GM barrel with the NOS GM FSB.

I was looking at that one also just because it would be an upgrade of the existing one I have. Good score!!!!

How are the GM ones different than Colt?
Are there some markings I didn't see?

6 dots across the back and most but not all have a rectangular indent on the right side of the T.

Ever see what an original, early style charging handle goes for?

Are you shitting me. I've got one of these sitting on a Franken rifle in my safe. It was given to me by our armorer, he knew I was into guns as I lived in the barracks and had my POW's locked up in the arms room.

I too bid on it but didn't chase as I have one I found in a batch of A1 charging handles I bought off an old armorer last year. Just wish I could find a GM upper.

Hello.  There are information links at the top area of the retro forum.

https://www.ar15.com/forums/ar-15/Information-Links/123-678296/

Here's the GM / H&R page, it is not super organized because none of us are. :)

https://www.ar15.com/forums/ar-15/GM_or_HandR_upper_assembly__an_old_and_somewhat_confusing_subject_/123-584919/?

Many of the images are hosted on photobucket so you might need to add a plugin to your browser to get around the new photobucket paywall or whatever you call it.

So a punch, tapping hammer and 6 dents in the back of my charging handle and the value goes up about $130?

Kind of hard to add the golden anodizing underneath the grey, but yeah, there are fakers of most rare parts - that is why It is important to know/trust your source and/or do your research before you buy expensive parts
