Looks like a pretty good deal to me.

11 upper receivers (2 of them look like XM16E1 receivers)
4 BCG (1 of the chrome ones looks like it is with forward assist.)

ETA: When you get everything post some pictures of your loot.

Left in a Rental house. I wish I had that kinda luck.

Smokin deal on the 21 uppers. Your deal sounds fair too.

looks like you got a pretty good deal to me

11 uppers
2 chrome bcg's
2 parked bcg's
6 CH's
1 chrome bolt

all for $875...if those chrome bcg are early and have the correct firing pins and retainers, there's ~$600 of it back already

hope the seller puts some padding in the box and doesn't ship to you like he has them pictured

if any of those "5 pre-forward assist upper receivers (handle part only)" are very early ..... I may be in the market for one

Two different ads by the same guy. He must have fallen into a Retro Forum member's war room.

Gotcha! I thought you were referring to the deal ali059 got since there wasn't another link posted. My bad.
Link Posted: 9/1/2010 1:26:25 PM EDT
I would have gladly paid $875 for that, were I able to afford it!

think boywonder77 got the 21 uppers i know it was the same handle on gunbroker. I bid on that one also but wanted the 11 uppers with carriers more!

I had to have the chorme carriers as he sent me pictures and they are colt xm ones!

Had heck of a time finding the one in my xm and cost me bucks!!!

Now 11 more retro's to build!!! :)

That's just gonna be fun to unpack! Unless you already saw detailed photos of everything, it'll be like Christmas morning, finding out what you got!

Not just that––he's also selling M14 stocks and NM barrels! (Had to add those to my watch list!)
Man, you gotta wonder what would make someone who is obviously a rifle fan to abandon all that good stuff.

They weren't left behind.I've heard every excuse.I found them in an attic,"I placed a bid on an abandoned storage unit","military auction".................

Cool...regardless of the truth, it makes for an intriguing story.

I bet his *friend* who identified everything recently finished a hitch in the Guard or Service and maybe had an *in* to the armorers shop.

The above speculation ^^^ is in no way intended to cast aspersions on the OP.

Sure was a lot of interest (bids) on those auctions...retro is IN.

Honestly, I never knew there was a museum! That's now on my list of places to visit.

I have great respect for JMB's engineering––all of his designs. Never built a '19 because it always seemed like a lot of money to build a belt-fed, semi-auto clone.
...but then I started spending money on retro ARs, and now those numbers don't seem quite so bad.
That can't be a good sign.

I contacted the seller about the other auction for 21 uppers. He wouldn't take other pictures of them and wouldn't open the box, he said "they all look the same to me." When I asked if they were padded in the box or if they would rub he said there would be some rubbing. (I asked because of the picture from this auction, the one you won) You might try to contact him and offer more money to pack them better, I didn't even bother bidding on either auction because I just didn't want to deal with the situation.

Yes thats a heap of cash, but you did get a sweet deal!
Link Posted: 9/1/2010 11:53:19 PM EDT
What's a few hundred dollars to feed the need for retro?

Post pics of loot and if you want to part with one of those 604 uppers and a chromed carrier, let me know.

This is a market functioning.
Supply and demand in action.

All collector segments of firearms have done the same as time goes by and surplus evaporates.

US Civil War - Span Am - WWI - WWII - Korea - and now VN era has been taking off in demand.

Civil War items make most men cringe.

Yeah, I understand that. But why did it have to happen when I finally got old enough to get into AR's?

Government Liquidators has had a shit load of A1 racks for sale in lots. Don't know what they've been going for.
I have a nice rack I paid $40 for but cannot use. I'd sell for same.
Don't know where you are. I'm north of Hammnd La.

The only problem with those racks is the cost of shipping them. There was an old store in upstate NY a few years back that had dozens of them, only about 3.5 hrs north of me.He could only sell them to walk ins as shipping was so expensive. At one time he offered them for $1.00 plus shipping.Shipping to me would have been something like $135 IIRC
ETA,Hell,a member here was giving them away last year on pay forward.Takers only had to either pay shipping or do a ftf pickup.
