Good point, I missed it.

Looking again it might be mini's since the casting seam is running the wrong way.

Yep, canteen cover filled w/ hand grenades- perhaps "baseball" types?

Yep, that's a cut down M-79 grenade launcher.

I think that this pic is LTG Stillwell (?), CORPS CG (?) inspecting SGT John "Tilt" Meyer's Recon Team (RT). MACV-SOG. Unsure name of RT or where assigned- CCN, CCC or CCS.

Don't know name of the "indig"/ "yard" being inspected nor his current status.

That is indeed RT Idaho of CCN being inspected by General Stilwell prior to launch but I think this target was scrubbed; the Straw Hat looking on is One-Zero John "Tilt" Meyer. Not sure what the indig's name is but I can easily find out.

Which one? This one looks like Tour of Duty to me. Do I win?

If it is original, it is probably a 601.  There might be other discussions:  http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_3_123/686693_Early_601_ejection_port_door.html

Thanks, I wonder who that guy is & if he survived?
I'd like to hear his take on the old project agile stories of the VC fearing the Black rifle, an how it was reportedly  "Blowing people apart".

From what I know about this picture, people have said that the rifle pictured is a 602.  If that is true then then handguards would be/ are black.  Obviously the lighting can have an effect on this but here's what points to it being a 602: the 3 prong flash hider instead of a duckbill, the lack of a triangle charging handle, and a black buttstock.  It is not impossible that somebody cracked the stock on a 601 and the stock got replaced with a black type C and the other improvements were added, but I think it is more likely that this is a 602 - with black handguards.
