Damn, I forgot just how big the AN/PVS2 was when mounted on the AR15/M16 Rifle. That rifle must be a total joy to carry around. |

Agreed, it appears to be an early pivot pin to me as well |

You may be right. Strange it looks kind of flat on the ejection port side. ARFCOM Member Justinbowser did the engraving for me. |

I think he's right about the 601 pin - not too surprising it's only dimpled on one side, just have never seen this done. Thanks for the great pics - although now I'm missing my XM16E1! |

Yah those pics are screenshots of the documentary Vietnam in HD. I wanted to makes pics cause you rarely see any pictures of Early XM16E1s with the ejection port open and the chrome BCG showing. Also they line up below the ejection port and have Armalite ejection port covers. Really cool pics.

LOL, that contraption has to be somewhere around twenty pounds. Another pic of the same set up. It's a USAF Security Police weapon. If I remember correctly it was used from a stationary position at an air base watch tower. Had to watch out for sappers at night. I can't locate the website now. |

Just found this thread and I've been making my way through it ever since. Real awesome stuff in here!
Only got through a few pages but those pics of the CAR15s with the makeshift vertical foregrips are awesome and has inspired me to try something similar with my shorty. It's stuff like that you don't even realize existed unless you go looking for it. |

I couldn't quite figure out what that contraption is behind the G.I.'s XM carbine, but finally decided it must be a sawed off M79. |
