Mostly Colt/Original Parts.
As much as I can find up here in Canada anyways.
Still need a front sling swivel, and I’m keeping my eyes peeled for hardware for an original Nylon M1 Sling that I have.

Someday I hope the Brownells retro lowers get imported here.

My 603 clone.  Haven’t posted a pic of it in a while:

Brand new SAK barrel when I got it.  Colt upper, Nodak lower.  Surplus furniture.

It shoots very well, but this is the first time I’ve had it out of the safe in years.

My son with our XM177E2 build covering the bank while riding a PBR Mk2 down the canal.

Nodak upper/lower, Brownells barrel, Colt BCG and furniture.

Gun tub on the PBR. Not ARs, but companion weapons to them. You know, for context...

Cheers,

Zip

How cool is that??

Where can you do Brown water riverine patrols on a PBR nowadays? Would love to get my Dad on one for a ride.

Brown water Navy, too cool.  I always liked the PBR, jet drives for shallow draft and the ability to turn 180° inside their own length at speed.  Damn fine boat.  The Uncle always has the fun toys.

Yes, the same boat, but not mine. He's going to be putting it up for sale. $200K, fully kitted out. The fore and aft .50s are rigged for blank-fire using propane.

My Model 603 clone:

Lower was reprofiled by Braceman, engraved by me.

Most of the parts came from Apex.

Barrel came from McKay Enterprises, it's a 1:7" and is surprisingly accurate for a pencil barrel.

I am very pleased with the end result.

I have a 13" barrel that I would like to build in a Commando style upper(not clone). Of course, I will have it  Pinned.

I know there is an issue over some of the flash suppressors being NFA because of sound suppression.

Which extended flash suppressor would get me >16" without being an issue?

Inspired by my first M4 before we got the SOPMOD. Aero M4 lower and PSA/FN upper. Of course the original had a hose clamp minimag but I took some liberties. Points/feels like an old friend.

Just finished my SMG-GAU5/A - I did mod the rear sight like some I have seen.
It is mostly correct, all colt parts But the moderator, I used a 70’s C marked carrier and a MP bolt...

I still need:
- swap the stock for the earlier anodized style
- find correct buffer
- correct carrier/bolt
- drill Rivet off the front swivel, and pin it
- remove the mold mark off fsb
- if anyone else can see anything else let me know

Very nice rifle, congratulations.

The swivel on mine doesn’t have the plastic coating on it (although it could have worn out and fallen off)

Almost certainly a repeat from me but I am still looking for another good complete set of mottled furniture (stock and pistol grip). I know I am very unlikely to find two good sets of older matching hand guards to match the stocks.

New to the AR world (and this forum for that matter) but not to collecting. Figured a great way to jump in would be to do a parts kit build. It is a Colt upper, BCG, and furniture finished off with a Brownells BRN16A1 lower, Brownells 1:12 retro barrel and ALG mil-spec trigger. Pretty pleased how it turned out and it goes well with my LRB M14SA.

Here's one I just finished putting together. It's built on a Bushmaster A2 lower, but I have a Brownells A1 lower that I plan to refinish to match the upper as close as I can. The receiver tube and stock are commercial spec (*shudders*) but look the part enough for me. The hand guards are place holders lacking any shielding. I have some 6 hole hand guards that I plan to use, but they're being repaired. One of the front guiding flanges broke and I'm trying to repair it with some JB Weld.

XM16E1.  Mostly Brownell parts with JSE 1/7 barell assy.  I'm in aw of this rifle. Same as I would be with any drop dead gorgeous women.  Or a Winchester Henry repeader, or a 44/40 Colt single action revolver.
