You will have to find what position it runs at on your own. This is done with an empty mag. Shoot and open gas until you get lock back.
I'd say get an SLR adjustable gas block. Get an H3 buffer while you're at it to slow down extraction and have the bolt unlock at a chamber lower pressure. |

Yeah, it's different for everyone depending on gas block, gas tube, gas port diameter, buffer, and carrier type so you would need to play around with yours, like Josh said.

Update - Finished the 7.5" with a blast can + Odin tuneable gas block. Barrel is the Green Mountain 7.5 chrome lined. Standard carbine buffer and AIM lightweight BCG with std extractor spring and bumper, no O ring. Test ran a few mags and no issues. Extractions were solid and brass didn't show any extractor marks. The gas system is only 2 full turns open making this thing one smooth shooting pistol. Not sure what to put on top but most likely just folding iron sights to keep it compact.
