Before I go back home to Indiana I plan on having Marty do me a pistol in .458 SOCOM. I can hunt with a pistol like that in Indiana but I cannot hunt with a rifle in the same caliber. Even though I mainly consider the 5.56 in an AR pistol a range toy it can have practical purposes. I see no reason why one could not hunt small game with it. They are accurate enough to take 'yotes out to 150 yards and pasture poodles out to about the same, so if one wants to hunt with one, why the heck not?
