Which currently made barrel in 7.62x39 will potentially be the most accurate?

I am looking at the CZ 527 chambered in 7.62x39 and it is a 0.311 not a 0.308 which greatly aids in accuracy.  I want to make an upper to be as accurate as the round will allow.   I can turn off the gas for single shot, but I have to start with the barrel.  Which ones are 0.311?

Just punching paper at 150-200 yards.

I have used the following 16" Barrels In various builds for myself
SOTA  good accuracy
Bear Creek Arsenal Ok think higher AK accuracy.
YHM. true .311  , 9.5 to 1 twist MOA with corbon and doing my my part.

Hansen, Lapua, and S&B ammo will be .311 bore, American 7.62x39 will use .308 bullets.
Depends what you are going to be shooting.
My Mini-30 was rebarreled to .311 as I have/had 3K of good quality Euro ammo.

I have bought a lot of .311 European ammo.

After rebarrelling, did you notice a difference?

What about Faxon barrels?  0.311 or 0.308?

I would not mind having both uppers, get a nice lower and shoot European or American projectiles.  The feel would be the same.

Bullet quality is just as important. Surplus grade 7.62x39mm ammo is mostly crap.

The American made 7.63x39 barrels use .310" bore size most of the time. I own a DPMS 20" and an AR Performance 16". The 16" was cut from a E.R. Shaw blank. Both barrels shoot around 1.25" to 1.50" groups at 100 with handloads.

I use PMC or IMI brass, Remington 9.5 primers and either 24.5 grains of H4198 or 28.0 grains of H322. I use Sierra 125 grain .311" Pro Hunter's or Hornady 123 grain .310" sp's. Both are seated to 2.190".

The only ball ammo that has ever shot very well for me has been surplus Yugoslavian mildly corrosive ammo. Most surplus ammo shoots 6" or bigger groups at 100.

The barrel was ruined by the previous owner shooting Norinco ammo and not cleaning.
My blank was a Douglass.

I have an Armalite AR in 7.62x39 surprisingly accurate even with Wolf.  Really accurate with Hornady SST

I just need the barrels, I have the uppers, bolts and carriers.

Is there a cost effective way to way to verify what bore diameter a barrel has?   I have a couple of 7.62x39 barrels that I just use for full auto fun, but it would be nice to know what they are.

I know the difference between 0.308 and 0.311 isn't much.

I have them working 99% reliability.

Faxon wrote back.   They use 0.308.

I'll second the Sota barrels.  I have shot 2 of them, both were good.
They will shoot 2, -2.5" at 100 shooting Brown Bear HP, 6 round groups.  The heat starts to open up the group after 6.
I recently bought a faxon gunner, I'm eager to see what it's capable of.  Haven't put it together yet.

Consistent ammunition is more of a factory too.

The Finnish military brass-cased SAKO 7.62x39 ammunition is the most accurate I've ever seen and shot over the years there through their SAKO Rk92 and Rk95 rifles.

East German DDR green steel cased x39 is the best steel-cased ammo I've ever seen.  Superb quality.

In the US, you'll probably see your best results with Hornady, Winchester, and Federal.

It's a stepwise problem solving for me.

Start with good lower, get the right couple of barrels, try different ammo.  That's about it.

I picked up a PSA upper from the EE a few weeks back.  Took to the range and shot 3 holes that touched at 100 yards.  I was shooting Wolf soft point ammo.

I thought that was pretty good.

KAK uses Green Mountain blanks for their 7.62x39 barrels.  on their 18" barrel, had to use an adj GB (overgassed).  i put an Adams Arms piston kit on their 16" carbine barrel, works fine.  i like their Value-Line barrels.

I am doing this because I like the accuracy of the CZ 527 but I don't want to buy another gun.  Another gun, more magazines, another pile of parts.  You know exactly what I mean.

I kinda went over board and bought over 50000 rounds of shitty 7.62x39.  Its super fun to blast on full auto and it suppressed really nicely.  If I get a nice barrel I don't need to worry about length.  I already have NFA lowers with nice triggers.  Some just SBRs and some autos.

If I get an adjustable gas block I can just turn it off and make this upper into a "bolt action."

I know some of you would say just get another gun.   I honestly don't want to.  Getting an upper would be better for me.

Aside from getting another gun, am I looking at this properly?   I completely understand that the crap ammo won't be the most accurate.  I'm not expecting chicken salad from chicken shit.  I just want to maximize the potential.

Green mountains barrels are about the best out there for a good price point.  Mine will shoot 1.5" no problem witj good ammo and will do 1.5 to 2" groups with golden tiger ammunition unfortunately golden tiger will have random Flyers that'll expand your group to 3.5"  every few rounds or so but otherwise it's pretty good stuff.

I bought the GM barrel, chrome lined and I bought a Ruger Ranch in 7.62x39.  So much for not buying another gun.

I’m also moving so both guns are already on the truck.   I’ll be at location in about a month to test them out.  Family moved first, I’m finishing up my work obligations.

You already have the expensive part of buying a new gun covered with 50k of ammo.

This plus Model 1 sales . YHM is my go to in this caliber.

I didn’t go with YHM because of the muzzle threading.  If I remember correctly, it’s not 5/8x24.

I like to suppress rifle calibers because of the hearing protection it offers.  I couldn’t buy a suppressor mount in that thread pitch (for my suppressor).   If I remember correctly.

I bought a Faxon when they were having a clearance. Seems real accurate with Monach steel case ammo.

I picked up a model 1 762x39 barrel and bolt years ago and swapped a rifle over. It is surprisingly accurate.  Wolf goes around 2" and some Winchester soft point I bought for deer hunting consistently go 1" for 3 shot groups.
