That's a great build.

Razor gen2 1-6x in a Geissele DDC mount, that would be sexy.

If the razor is too much, the PST gen2 1-6x would work well too.

Yeah, that's what I ended up doing.  Cheaper than Dirt has two ddc extended mounts left if anyone needs one now.  Full price though.

Ballistic Advantage 16" Hanson
BCM blem upper
SD-C trigger
Hogue rifle stock
Trijicon tr20
ALG 13" rail

My new hunting rifle. Hope it groups well. I read mixed reviews on ballistic advantage and them discontinuing the barrel after i bought it does not inspire confidence.

Edit: thought I knew how to post pics, apparently not. Just imagine it while I attempt to fix.

Optic added.  I really think I could have gone with the hyper extended mount as this thing has way more eye relief than I'm use to.  First Vortex.  Glass is nice and clear and I like the small dot and reticle, fm1.

Update:

Well I shot this thing today and it shot so bad I'm not sure what to do with it.  Baseball groups at 100yds.  Everything is the way I've build ever other Grendel, trued upper, bedded 620, 50ft/lbs barrel nut, gas tube alighment perfect, etc.  I'm going to redo the brake as it's around 35 lbs and maybe try a new bolt.  Pretty disappointed so far.

This looks good! I'm going with a similar setup. 16" Faxon instead of a BA tube. How much does your rifle weigh?

I chose the Accupower 1-8x28 MIL reticle with red illumination because:

(1) The zoom range is very useful for Grendel out of a shorter barrel. I'm not building a dedicated precision rifle.

(2) The reticle is MIL-based, which allows me to match up my 12" barrel & various Grendel loads to MIL drop tables -- none of the common BDC reticles matches up well with this rifle/ammo combo.

(3) I can still range with the reticle, albeit with a bit of math.

(4) The turrets are locking, so I can still access them to dial if I want but don't have to worry much about them moving around.

(5) The red illum is usefully bright (better than the green illum).

(6) The FFP reticle starts being useful for drops and windage around 4-5x, so I can use intermediate powers for the wider FOV and not worry about my reticle being off.

(7) Eyebox is great at 1x and tighter but acceptable at 8x.

(8) Glass quality is very good, only exhibiting some chromatic aberration when you're not lined up correctly behind the scope at 8x.

(9) Weight is the same as the previous iteration of the Vortex Razor HD Gen II 1-6, and lots of guys that use guns for a living are A-OK with that scope's weight.

(10) Trijicon has been around forever and will probably be around forever. Plus they have great CS.

(11) The price was right.

I'm not a glass snob, so as long as I can see what I'm aiming at I'm good. The Accupower has much better glass than "just good enough" but it's not a Swarovski or Kahles -- again, I don't really care. The scope works well for its intended purpose and I really like the reticle. Some folks don't like the thicker aiming cross at the center of the reticle, but if I'm shooting anything past 200 yards I'm using holdovers anyway so that part of the reticle doesn't really get in my way.

The weight does make itself known vs using a red dot or something like the Primary Arms 1-6, but overall it's not bad at all. I've certainly used much heavier 5.56 rifles.

I like it. It is pretty slim and its light weight. I weighed it but don't remember the excact weight, but its light. Also wasn't expensive.
Quality is good and I liked the ratcheting turnbuckle way of attachment

Brownells with a coupon code listed in the deals thread.  Free shipping as well.  Had to add a roll pin to get it over $300.  It's listed at $299.99 and the coupon didn't work until I did.  No bolt with it.
