Greetings,

PRI has closeout on LW .499 mags.  10 bucks for 5 rds and 15 bucks for 10 rounds.  Any experience out there with Beowulf and .499 mags.

Thanks,

LittleLamb

Who is PRI and where's their website?

It says they work with .50Beo.  PRI makes a nice mag.  $15 is probably well worth it.  I would order some if I needed any .50Beo mags, but I really don't and it runs fine in stock AR223 mags anyways.  If I needed some though, I would order those PRI mags in a second!!

Reply,

I did buy a few before I posted.  I figured I'd give it a try,  was just looking for first hand  experience.  I like the concept of the straight magazine and follower design.    Price wasn't bad either compared to what they were selling for when I was shopping/ trying to to decide on .499/beowulf/458 Soc about 4.5 years ago.

hmm... these look like nice mags. I assume they would work for the 458 SOCOM also.anyone have any thoughts on this?

They should work for the SOCOM, but I am more interested in other potential applications...

Not that I have any money laying around, but willing to share anything?  If it's anything big bore, my Beowulf may need a friend in the future.

Marty do you always have to be so enigmatic?

I got my box of these in, tried them, it appears they work with all the spitzer type bullets for the .458, but the flat nose Barnes 330 Solid did not want to feed.  The 300 JHP seemed to feed as well but I need to confirm with some more shooting

So it appears these are a good option for the .458 as well AND it appears they will allow a longer loaded length, probably around 2.31....

I ordered a 5 and 10 rounder to use with my .458.  I finally got a chance to try them out yesterday and I was very impressed with the feeding.  I was shooting 300 grn JHP's and 405 grn FP's.  They both fed great and seemed to feed smoother than gi mags do.  I had a few instances of them failing to lock the bolt back but I was also testing out new loads so I can't eliminate that as a cause.  I liked them so much that I placed another order for more of both.

I got some for the wolf and need to adjust them so the rounds don't run strait into the barrel extension

Maybe I need to find a .458 to try them on
