[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Mega Uppers, Lowers, and Barrels discontinued

Anybody else notice this? Is Mega out of business? New product line? I know nothing about it. Just know wherever I look it says product discontinued.

I read somewhere that they were folded into another company (Zev Technologies). I hope they retain the same fit/finish/quality. They are one of my favorite companies when doing OCD builds.

ETA:

Now I'm pissed... Apparently, Zev is the company that makes Battlestar Galactica looking Glocks.

That kinda sucks. Not a fan of their tricked up Glock products.

But if they continue their quality then maybe I can get over it. Bought two Mega Uppers today just because. I may have one more can't remember.

Giving thought to a Mega Upper and Lower, my Geissele GBT trigger, Geissele Raile, and a LT Stealth barrel? Is that blaspheming?

Love their work or not aesthetically, ZEV does very nice machining. There is no guarantee that quality of the mega offerings will suffer. That said, I bought a maten upper/lower/rail set, been wanting it for years.

Wow, most of my ARs are based on mega upper/lower combos. I think I still have 2 more in the safe so I am good.

Glad I built an A4 with a Mega Upper/Lower a while back. The fit and finish is a cut above everything else. I hate to hear that they are being merged with somebody else.

They seem to be shooting themselves in the foot not keeping the mega roll mark around.

Even though I'm sure quality and whatnot will remain the same under Zev, why get rid of such a widely known name and rollmark?

Mega has been some of the best lowers I've used, hands down. Always flawless machining and finish. I've seen mergers screw up successful companies before. Hopefully it doesn't happen here. The good news is that according to the press release Mega's president is taking over the company's combined manufacturing operations. Hopefully that means the same quality continues, even if the logo changes.

If you find and buy a Mega Gator lower how can you tell if it's an original Mega and not recently made by Zev with a Mega roll mark?

Is Snohomish, Wa the give away? Or Centralia, Wa?

As I understand it, if has the Mega roll mark it's a Mega Arms part. They said in a press release that they wouldn't change anything in 2017 while they were deciding which direction to take the new company.

Zev uppers and lowers look to be mega, rebranded. Their stripped lower looks just like a Mega Gator lower with Zev roll mark.

well, at least they are staying in Centralia and still somewhat local to me.
