+1 - I'm counting 15 holes under the toprail.  Looks good, though!

Anyone want to comment on why this is a better rail than a DD Lite? I'm tempted to go with the Centurion.
Just like to hear some pros and cons compared to the DD rail.

So far, I'm thinking:
-easier install
-cheaper and no installation wrench to purchase
-less tools to install: no need for vise or receiver block
-q.d. sling pockets

But how about the overall feel? Anything else to be concerned about?

Thanks!

I have both and I am totally happy with both. They feel great, they are solid. And yes the DD does require tools and more work and a lot more $$$. Actually, I think if you don't already have the tools go for the Centurion.

Stick (or anyone else), any pics from the muzzle showing the cross-section?

I don't know if this helps but here's mine. I have the cut out model with a clamp-on YHM flip sight/gas block.

That helps a lot - I was trying to see it it was a round or an oval rail.  I like the width of my Omega and would prefer something similar.

Check Weapon Outfitters. Site sponsor, get 5% off with code, and free shipping on orders over $100. Good guy to deal with, too.

I will now post one of the worst pics ever of cent rail on a rifle. Better ones will be coming––I finished up the install at 9 last night after my son went to bed! Sorry for the crappy I-phone pic.

By far this is the Best rail I have handled., Its the right dimaeter for my hand, Its beyond sold, I shaved close to a pound of weight from my rifle. I am beyond impressed!

Does anyone know how far the rail on the carbine lenghth with fsp cutout extend past the FSP? I have a 10.5 upper on the way and I plan to put the AAC brake and a suppressor on there eventually and wanted to make sure there is enough clearance.

Thanks!

I have a Spikes/FN 14.5" CHF upper with pinned DynaComp, and Im considering putting on a set of these rails. Anybody have pictures of a mid-length, 14.5" barrel'd upper, with the CA 10" C4 rail, and the shaved FSB sticking out a bit?

Dumb Question:

When installing a C4 9" rail or cutout C4  rail on a middy with a FSB, can one simply snip off the hand guard cap with shears, or do I have to tap out the FSB's taper pins or loosen the FSB to get off the hand guard cap?

Thanks in advance.

Link Posted: 9/21/2011 7:05:20 PM EDT
[#39]
It's easier to tap out the fsb pins. You have as much acess to the cap as possible without the fsb getting in the way with chance of getting marred.

Thats what I did. I'm not sure I needed to but I drove the pin out of the gas tube as well and removed the tube, then cutting the cap was very easy.
