WOWSERS.....I posted a lengthy reply to buddy's masterpiece and slipjet's awesome new .22 setup all for not, I actually had a little panic attack but now that I see the Godfather is handling his business and I still have my home I can sleep easy

Slipjet, since you condemned yourself by posting a nice grouping pic with the dominator 18" SS already, you kinda signed yourself up to doing an extensive AAR on that sweet spikes setup

.......and so the badness rolls on

Was going to sell this to buy an FN SCAR but decided to keep it. It is a sweet shooter! Maybe a SCAR next year?

I know he is! I sold an AK and was trying to sell the MRP but will not go any lower than I had it listed. Plus I didn't think it wise to trade/sell two guns to buy one, and one in which spare parts etc may be hard to come by if I ever needed them. I used the money to buy a complete factory Daniel Defense upper and am getting the DD lower and parts together for another AR instead

I too noticed that part 2 had run it's course and was going to start another one but, I had faith in the OG Badness crew to keep things rolling...

thank you Duffy

KAC sights and trigger guard to go with the KAC dimples. after the first few hundred rounds i think i'm really going to like this set up. the range was full of... well, hunters getting ready for the season so i didn't stay all that long... it was a dangerous place to be. i limited myself to 50yds as i was unwilling to go 100yds down range with that bunch of morons on the line (except the M1A guy, he was good to go). what i did get time to do i was very happy with the results.

I have been running a MRP CQB for 3 years. Its never failed, though I do think this is due to me throwing away a lot of mags and buying new ones from time to time. I run a 16" chromelined with a Vortec FH, LMT enhanced bolt, M16 carrier NP3 plated, Tango down pistol grip, RM vertical Flash light grip, Trijicon RX30, LMT tactical sights, steel charging handle, SOPMOD stock and a old Trusted Laser Devices laser. Its a heavy gun but will handle most tactical needs given the advent of better 5.56 ammo.

My CQB has done taken a lot of licks and always held zero. Its only on its second barrel so its got a ways to go.

Lately I have been running the SHRIKE AAR its a more refined weapon system with the good aspects of the M16 still utilized. Gas piston, tool less 3 second barrel changes, folding charging handle, adjustable gas system, simple M16 type takedown, stronger design(orginal design built for belt feed) and upgradable to fill lots of rolls. All this plus the AR lower and egonomics I'm used to in a M4.

Welcome to badness brother.....beautiful cqb and top to bottom the specs are awesome.  Keep us updated on that one for sure

INtrooper gets mad points for using his mrp on duty, you must have a great dept. with relaxed policies as many require the bushmaster to give the bad guys a fair chance

Yeah, they let us carry our own, they restrict us to 16 to 20 inch barrels on the AR platform only (they do allow Mini 14's though I don't think many carry them).  They are restrictive on ammo though.  They only allow 55 or 62 grain ammo.  But, I would rather supply my own AR so I can carry what I want and what suits me!  They also make troops that have an optic, carry the rifle in a hard case, but I have a rifle rack rigged up in the back seat of the Mustang to carry my MRP, there's just no other room anywhere in the car!

Well I want mad points too because right now the MRP is what I currently have a dept. weapons card to carry as my patrol rifle. When I get back to the range next month I will be qualifying with one of my SBRs though for more options.

Cool!!!  I really wish that my Dept would allow me to carry my 10.5 inch barrel, it makes a HUGE difference while inside a vehicle or clearing a residence/building.

Yes it does! Our department has a very open rifle policy. As long as it is a quality rifle/build and you can qualify with it you are GTG.

Damn right its done....its perfection.

INtrooper what loads are you speaking of......and wtf, you job description calls for a mustang equipped w. a racked MRP  Sounds like a solid gig to say the least.

FloridaCreek, Way back when I gave you my thoughts on the stretch mrps and you bought that one I will tickled...then I saw one great pic of it w. acog leaning against a tree and poof, the next time I saw it was in the EE.  I felt bad because I thought I had given you some bad advice or mis lead you on what the stretches were all about....hopefully your commitment is a little stronger to the platform this time around as I would not take two scars for that one stretch you have and I mean that to the core.

Not bad advice at all!!!! I LOVE the stretch MRP but was bitten by the SCAR bug a long time ago. I am keeping the MRP for sure and will get a SCAR sometime next year or maybe Christmas time this year, but that depends. I really liked the ACOG but for L.E. use I just didn't care much for it. I also liked the Insight MRD mounted on top of the TA33 but felt it added too much "thickness" to the entire platform.

TRIDENT1982, our departments SOP limits us to only a 55 grain or 62 grain round (no steel core) so it is pretty restrictive.  I carry the Hornady 62 Grain TAP Barrier round, but it would be much nicer to have the choice of the new Gold Dot 64 gr round or even the 75 or 77 gr rounds.

As far as the Mustang, I drive an unmarked 2008 Ford Mustang GT for a patrol car.  There are one of the Mustang's per post here in Indiana and I am lucky enough to drive one.  It is pretty limited on interior room, as well as trunk room, so I have an electronic rifle rack set up in the back seat which makes it fairly easy for me to access in a hurry.

Since I'm in the Mustang, I obviously am required a high amount of traffic contacts, but I work a really rural area so I still work the domestics, burglaries, crashes and numerous other types of criminal calls.

Nice. Do you have any idea how it compares to the Gear Sector mount?

I have both mounts and would opt for the DC mount if you're not concerned with marrying to a rail panel.  However, DC meeds to also make a similar styled sling mount with non-rotational QD sockets.  I like to have similar mounts, so at this point if I have a carbine that requires both a light mount and sling mount, then the GS would probably be my choice although I kinda like the DC design better.

Unless you need to remove your light then a non-qd mount is the way to go.  I suspect that LT will follow suit with a static unit.

Cheers

I don't have the Gear Sector mount but I considered it. i like the DC because it's specific to the Scout. Don't get me wrong though, the GS sling mounts are awesome.

So what channels do I need to go through if I wanted to procure a bit of "Git some"....also can I get more than just "some", thinking I will need the whole thing

Why do you neglect your stretch so much....its so obvious the "micro man" cannot handle the stretch, some day perhaps

FYI...I have enough love for the stretch to cover us both

eta....Duffy can you see about getting this thread swapped w. #2 and have it re-sticky'd, I hate to miss a single reply and I now, not even including one from myself have missed I think 6-7 replies from folks not seeing that we have rolled over into #3.

My stretch MRP is my dedicated 6.8 rig and due to the ridiculously high price of 6.8 ammo it sits in the back of the safe.  I regret selling of my spare 16" CL 5.56 barrel and bolt as it would've been perfect for the stretch.    Live and learn I suppose.

ETA:  Your MRP's look great as always.  What lower are you gonna use on your QCB SBR?  KAC?

Cheers

That sir is one helluva mrp kit....

How much time have logged on the mythical 16" SS or is that an 18"...cannot really tell.....to much excitement for me to handle seeing that shiny object either way

I know i am bonkers but the stuff that has been posted the last 1-2months has really amped up in not only quality but the builds seem to be starting to fully utilize the system with folks going off in one of the many, many different ways one can go with mrps like a bunch of mad scientists and coming  back with sheer awesomeness results.

Me emphasizing a Stretch

Or at least do us the favor of un tacking the # 2.....that is frustrating to see when folks keep posting in it.

I did a thread today asking for it.....no reply or fix, however you know that if I had said something inappropriate which I clearly would never do it would have been spotted in a sec. by a mod...more than likely aimless and I would be taking a timeout

Great kit bro.  I have been eyeballing one of those cases for a while.  Do you know who manufactures it for LaRue?  I know Hawke Pak does some of their other gear.

Cheers

You shot your new baby anymore yet Mark? (I bet your daughter has already repo'd it like ArmedSuspect's wifey has done his mws)....it would be awesome to hear about your first several outtings with it and esp. your groups when using the nxs.

Buddy, whats the best groups you shot @ 100yds. using your neglected and very beautiful stretch w. CL 16" 6.8 barrel?
