Has anyone used their bolt/bolt carrier? Worth the extra money?

Depends on what you consider extra money?

You can get MP tested CMT bolts with carrier for $130. Its hard to beat that if not impossible.

Sorry for my ignorance - what are the abbreviations you're using?

Also, do these bolts have the 'enhanced' features that Lewis claims?

Sorry. Take a look at this thread, it will give you info on my abreviations. www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=118&t=242923

You must be talking about the $280 "enhanced" bolt and carrier by LMT. Myself and hundreds of thousands of AR enthusiats have never used one and we have gotten along just fine without it. Save your money and get an MP tested bolt and carrier by CMT.

Just make sure you stake those carrier keys correctly.

I own both the LMT and CMT MP tested M16 BCG's. The differences that I can tell between the two are:

The staking on the LMT is done to spec. The CMT is not really staked but apparently it works (I restaked mine anyway). Do a search on this topic, it's been beaten to death...

The LMT included a small black O-ring on the extractor spring, the CMT did not.

The LMT cost about $130, the CMT about $120.

Worth the extra $10? That's up to you. Personally I like the added insurance of the O-ring (although I prefer the D ring). I'm also paranoid and restake the CMT so I guess you could say that is a bit of plus in the direction of the LMT as well.

Normally I'll purchase the LMT unless it's not in stock. In that case, I go w/an MP tested CMT.

As far as the $280 "enhanced LMT BCG" goes, I haven't felt the need... I can get 2 BCG's that will function just as well for that and still have money left over...
