Upper marked with a P and M on A1 receiver and 20" pencil barrel is marked C MP B
There is also a C on front sight. The bolt is marked MPC and the carrier is marked SE.
Any help with manufacturer appreciated.

This was covered earlier today... Well, at least the receiver part was...

The receiver:
P = CAPCO (who finished the receiver)...
M = Martin Marrietta (the forging manufacturer)...

The barrel:
C = COLT (the barrel manufacturer)...

M = Magnetic Particle Inspection (similar to Magnaflux)...
P = Proof Load Firing has been performed...

B = Chrome Bore…

Thanks for the heads up shootersden. I am behind on my reading.
So is this a Colt upper or a frankenstein put together job?
I am trying to figure out what uppers to sell and what to keep. Right now I have more than I need.

That's a good question... I know that CAPCO is a military contractor so its hard for me to say... If it has the forward assist without the shell deflector, it would make the retro builders very happy...

Here is a pic of the upper.
Is it a keeper or a frankenstein clunk?

Thats one clean looking retro upper... IMO, if it was mine, it wouldnt be going anywhere...

ETA: Let me know if you want to get rid of it...
