the aluminum one fits right over the end of the stock

so its just that little piece of aluminum that fits over the end...I thought it was the whole bottom half that gets switched out with the new AL part.

It is an aluminum tip that goes over the end.
It does not replace the parts. |

I think someone is confusing the bracket for the strike plate.

the strike plate is an add-on, there is nothing there to replace.

i have one as well. Nice addition not quite sure if necessary. I currently have no plans to bash anyone with my stock but if i do or need to at least i have that strike plate on.
It's a squared off piece of aluminum that mounts to the bottom of the m93a or b. At first i thought it would be sharper since it was intended for butt stroking opponents. Nice addition though |
