The CMT uses a mil-spec buffer tube, so if you think you might like a Vltor or a LMT SOPMOD stock someday go with the CMT. The cav arms piece would also be a fine choice but uses (last I checked) the commercial sized buffer tube which is not compatable with the stocks I mentioned earlier.

Stag. I like Cav Arms, but wish they would use a mil-spec tube, so that would mean I could use their tube with another stock.

Stag. Wouldn't surprise me if Cav Arms made the plastic part of their stock, anyways.

I think you're right. So why not just do the tube too? I'd love to see the industry pic a standard, but that will likely never happen. It'd just be easier if you didn't have to worry about the tube you're buying being compatible with other stuff.

get the STAG...it has the mil-spec tube, unless you want something other then black, as I don't think they offer anything in green or coyote brown.

Thanks for all of the opinions.
I ordered the Stag from EAGLE last week. It came yesterday and is already on the rifle. If you guys hadn't advised me of the MIL SPEC TUBE I might have ordered the CAV ARMS just to save a couple dollars. I appreciate the good advice. lineman |
