I would to know if the R0977 upper is the same as the LE6921upper?

By no means am I a COLT expert but do know that both are the same...

Flat top with 14.5" chrome lined 1/7 twist barrel...

I agree with shootersden, and would add that the only difference may be the bolt carrier and I emphasize may.

But the bolt and carrier are not necessarily parts considered when referencing complete upper recievers.

One other thought.

The RO977 may have a heavier barrel under the handguards. LE/.mil types may offer insight here.

Your right come to think about it... I do believe the R0977 has the SOCOM type medium weight barrel... The LE6921 has the government profile, lighter under the hand guard barrel...

It depends

The LE6921, RO920, RO921, RO979, and RO977 will have the same upper.

The safe-semi-full variants of the above could have the midweight barrel after 2001 while the others have the regular M4 barrel.

I have a dumb question . How does the medium barrel help the M4A1 , M4 R0977 ? Wouldn't it hold in more heat?

Beefier barrel for sustained full auto use.
