If one were to cut down a midlength RRA or Armalite barrel to just be able to have a flash suppressor stick out in front of the front sight base, how long would the barrel be?

Not long enough to be legal without paying a $200 stamp tax, waiting 6 months for paper work, and still having to put up with those suprise visits from the ATF. lol

Thanks, Kev. 12" would be a nice looking setup for an SBR. I wish I could have a short barreled rifle where I live. Their not even allowed on registered MGs in my state. FL-AR15, surprise visits from the ATF? I have never heard of anyone getting visits from the ATF over private ownership of C3 items. I thought only FFL holders were subject to surprise inspections, and then only during their stated business hours.

Heck I don't know. I was just being a smart a$$. I have heard something about waving the forth ammendment right in order to keep a title 2 weapon, but that may as well be BS.

$200 tax, yes 6 months paperwork, yes surprise visits...not likely for one SBR...
