Small gripe: that front sight isn't going to deploy as readily as the rear sight will. I just wish PRI had a spring-loaded version of its sight - that would be the ticket!

The customers that PRI designed the FRONT sight for, had a good reason not to have a spring out there. Since the weapon is deployed and used for other things than just aiming, such as poking the muzzle into unfriendly area's, they did not want any chance of accidental pop up of the front un-controled sight sticking way out there. The same as the standard front solid sights, they take an awfull lot of abuse in the field.
Good shootin, Jack

Is the color difference in the main bottom portion and the filler panel that strong in regular light or just in the photos?  It looks much more grey than the rest of the SIR.

It's pretty much the photo lighting.  There's definitely a visible difference in the color(s) of the aluminum & composite panels, but it's still quite the ingenious & aesthetic setup.

My two fighters. Everything you see on both rifles (save one Aimpoint) is from MSTN.

Spider, what were you doing taking pics of your rifle on my carpet???

Put it on a pre ban and see if the bayo fits, I want to win a bet with WES:) The 58Mod is not made from a #50, it is obviously made from a #58 mid length to give extended rails to an M4 length carbine.

New-arguy has his #58MOD on his pre-ban. If I can get him to bring it over for a photo shoot this weekend, I can put my bayo on it and check.

ANSWER: A GOOD REASON TO NEVER RUN OUT OF AMMO.

YES, 3RDTK WINS. A BAYONET CAN INDEED BE MOUNTED WITH THE #58-MOD IN PLACE.

Damnit Hawkeye, I wish you would quit posting pictures of your Dissipator.  I have enough projects going on as it is.  STOP IT!

Yes, and you blacked out the QD ring too!  Nice set up, I think this will be my next project upper.  Everytime MSTN posts a new rifle, I change my mind (SPR, RAS-MRE, etc.)  I think this 58MOD is calling my name...

BELIEVE IT OR NOT, THE FIRST TIME I PUT A BAYONET ON A M-16 (TRAINING) THAT WAS EXACTLY WHAT I THOUGHT.  AMMO IS A MUCH BETTER OPTION.

A rusty SKS will give a state of the art M4 a run for it's money in the bayonet game.
