HAMMERDROP,
I hope I may shed a little light. The Sully Stock is approximately 8-1/8" and is made of solid urethane all the way through. This size was derived from the study of shooters who use collapsable stocks, and most of these shooters when using a forward facing shooting foundation choose the middle lockout position on the collapsable stock. This middle lockout position is 8-1/8" in length on most collapsable stocks.
The Sully Stock is made of solid urethane all the way through. This solid design was done for ruggedness as well as makes the rifle balance better. The undercut was added to allow a comfortable use of a Military style cradle carry. We are about to add a 1" thicker buttplate to the stock kits. This will give a person of using the standard buttplate for an overall length of approximately 8-1/8", or add the thicker butt plate for an overall length of approximately 9-1/8". This gives a person the option of two fixed stock sizes that are shorter than a standard Military style A1 or A2.
DPMS sells our stock as well as others like www.aptacademy.com , www.lightfighter.com , and www.stubbygear.com
SWAT magazine has a review of our stock in the December 2003 issue which should be on the news stand this week. I hope this helps answer a few questions. If you would like to talk with a great trainer in your area who also uses our stocks, check with BJ Johnson at www.aptacademy.com
