Is the longer FH on these a different diameter, or are the looks just playing tricks on me?

These are designed to mimic the XM177E2 which had a supressor on it too large to mount a bayonet.  And didn't even have the lug.

I had a Bushmaster 11.5" with a 5.5" suppressor for years and it carries a bayonet just fine! There's just not as much blade to "stick" somthing with!

Same here, I had an old Bushy with the 5.5" flash hider and when I bought it from another, it came with an M7 bayonet.  I though the M7 was hogged out to accept the larger diameter flash hider, then someone showed me it wasn't any bigger than normal.
